strategic production line including 25 unique design capital assets.
• Interface with county and regulatory board for permit application and occupancy certification in
Charlotte, Mecklenburg including building, HVAC and electrical review.
• Championed the move of three driven disc assembly cells to a new facility within one week,
coordinating customer approval while maintaining a build rate each day during the move.
• Manage maintenance department for facility and equipment in a $80M annual revenue facility to
exceed goal of 10% year over year plant downtime reduction for each of the past two years.
• Successfully managed the installations of over $500K of capital projects providing consistent on time
completion. Utilized Pro-Launch to install and validate capital projects.
• Initiated cost out activities resulting in $130K annual savings from productivity improvements, waste

• Rescued strategic product launch in crisis mode for missing shipment deadlines and failing
specification requirements. After three months of intense work, the carbonitriding line in Bielsko
Biala, Poland achieved on time customer approval for Toyota lash adjuster and roller rocker arm
assemblies. Negotiated equipment modification based on purchase order requirements that were being
insufficiently met.
• Led global lash adjuster team to resolve heat treatment issues that arose between the United
States, Italy and Poland plants. Identified raw material change to improve throughput by 33% at the
cost of 0.0045-euro cents. Developing a technology shift from continuous belt to vacuum
carbonitriding to improve uniformity and productivity.

Supplier Quality Engineer – Division Headquarters, Marshall MI (1998 to 2000)
• As part of the global supplier resource management team, determined global strategic sourcing
decisions resulting in annual 5% cost savings selected material grades including nickel based alloy and
atomized powder.
• Worked with supplier resource management to identify and evaluate potential sources resulting in long
term partnerships with steel technologies that emerged as superior choices. Examples:
o Selected Villares over Inco as global supplier of specialty steel. Result: the Villares single
strand technology is thriving while Inco Alloys was acquired by Specialty Metals.
o Partnered with mini-mill technology at Charter Steel as the single source of N. American cold
forming steel while rejecting large strand continuous caster at Birmingham Steel and bloom
products at Kobe Steel and Republic Steel. Earned certification as a high quality supplier.
• Established the first global SQA manual, approved supplier list, work instructions and divisional
supplier issues list.
Plant Metallurgist - Lash Adjuster Manufacturing Plant, Roxboro, NC (1996 to 1998)
• Supervised heat treatment operation to reduce the frequency of next in line part shortages by revamping
furnace scheduling to reduce change over frequency by 10% and lost furnace time during change over
by 15%.
• Led a $1.4M capital purchase of a continuous belt carbonitriding furnace, tracking the four stages of
building and installation that resulted in achieving on time launch required for start-up on new Chrysler
product line.
• Integrated control system utilizing oxygen probes, shim ports and supervisory software resulting in
30% reduction in natural gas consumption (approximate annual savings of $100K) and improved
product quality by reducing process variation.
• Instituted fluid control system to monitor concentrations and make additions based on fluid parameters
rather than defined arbitrary intervals. The modification improved performance, decreased machine
down time and reduced costly fluid change interval from weekly to every six months.
