Direct four managers and supervise the daily activities of 40 personnel supporting and maintaining

the network, systems & telecommunications infrastructure, desktop services & IT Helpdesk, and

data center for a $4 billion credit union.

Reduced server hardware expenses by one-third and improved system availability through use

of VMWare. Consolidated server environments and increased use of cluster technology to

improve data backup and replication schemes.

Saved $$Thousands in IT hardware and software costs through relationship building with

critical vendors including Dell, CDW, Microsoft, Cisco and Unisys.

Guided Telecommunications Group through implementation of Voice over IP technology and

deployment of VoIP equipment at branches. Resulted in annual savings of more than

$250,000 through consolidation of voice and data network.

Significantly improved system recovery times through use of virtual tape library (VTL) allowing

tape backups to be written to disk and immediately available while deferring the transition to

tape.

Maintained 24/7 network and systems availability consistently above 99% through

establishment of a well developed on-call program and pro-active maintenance.

Guided and directed a major project to implement Identity Access Management (IAM)

technology. Organized data and developed parameters for the implementation of IBM’s Tivoli

Managed and supervised Desktop Services and created the first IT Helpdesk supporting 800 -

1000 users. Routinely handled 3,500 calls a month and consistently exceeded 80% service

levels.

Developed and implemented IT Self-Help Program for branch network to reduce equipment

downtime, accelerate the replacement of bad equipment and eliminate the requirement for

additional branch support staff. Saved $40,000 in compensation costs and hundreds of hours

in technician time to respond to remote locations.

Organized and managed the replacement of 600 PC’s as part of the routine equipment refresh

cycle. Negotiated reduced costs for PC’s and eliminated weeks of implementation time through

use of pre-built images and outsourced installation assistance.

Developed program to earn $88,000 in annual savings through use of outsourced printer

maintenance contracts and eliminated the costs associated with printer replacement while

reducing printer downtime.

Project manager for end-user applications and peripherals during a core financial system

conversion over a period of 18 months. Configured and installed MISER/FSBA and APPRO.
