Trend Consulting 2008 – 2009 Sr. Network Engineer
• Staff augmentation as network engineer at Lubrizol Corp
• Daily responsibilities included troubleshooting and resolution of global WAN
problems including performance, routing and general access problems.
• Part of the Lubrizol global network team and worked on the VoIP team to
implement new global Avaya VoIP system.
• Installed VPN service into several Lubrizol warehouse facilities which reduced
costs by eliminating more expensive dedicated circuits.
• Completed project that would allow warehouses to connect to Lubrizol enterprise
through web interface which eliminated the need for a Lubrizol paid circuit.
Customer could now use their own Internet service.
• Worked on project that installed the Cisco wireless controller into enterprise
which would allow centralized control of all Cisco wireless access points.
• Network project leader for Citrix project. This would install Citrix terminals in
several locations to replace standard desktops. This translates to cost reductions
for both phone support and desktop deployment.
Penske Logistics 2007 – 2008 Sr. Data Communications Engineer
• Network project leader overseeing installation of Penske network cabling and
equipment for Cardinal Health. This project was the first time new broadband
technology (EVDO) was used for a production network.
• Engineer level network support for Penske Logistics customers. Provided top
level troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Performed upgrades to data center network equipment. Most of these upgrades
increased capacity for the customer databases and increased throughput for
customer connections.
Degussa/BASF 2001 – 2007 Sr. Network Engineer
• Project leader overseeing implementation of AT&T MPLS network in the North,
Central and South American regions which includes over 200 sites. This project
(as part of a global project) was the largest network related project to date at
Degussa and was completed on time and within budget.
• The MPLS network implementation project was completed remotely with limited
local personnel. Router configurations were reviewed and tested with the carrier
before each deployment to verify the ability to complete the installation remotely.
• Provide remote support for facilities LANs in North, Central and South America
which includes over 200 WAN Locations, 8 site-to-site VPN connections
connecting over 3,000 devices.
• Coordinated the scheduling of each migration with both the carrier and the local
facility. This required taking into account the schedules of the various
manufacturing facilities.
• Managed MPLS network changes internally through change management process
as well as coordinating and completing those changes with the vendor.
• Part of global network services team responsible for implementation of MPLS
network to all sites globally.
• Lead network engineer responsible for North American Cisco VoIP
implementation for nine sites supporting over 200 phones.
• Coordinated IP alignment for various sites which changes facilities from old IP
scheme to global IP scheme.
• Managed various cable vendors for various local and remote locations facilities
where we needed to complete all cabling for new facilities down to simple demarc
extensions or one-off drop installs.
• Oversee all changes to Checkpoint firewall for any rule changes and additions for
both DMZ’s as well as changes that affect the Data Center LAN.
