Weight and Balance Engineer
Responsible for initial Weight and Balance estimations and predictions for the Cirrus
prototype and production intent jet aircraft.
• As part of the prototype JET design team, I utilized my knowledge and experience to
provide an estimated weight and center of gravity determination which lead to the current
design for a new revolutionary V-Tail single engine VLJ aircraft the Vision ST50.
• Developed internal computer software programs that provided instant weight and balance
information for proposed aircraft design changes.
• Used the information derived from these programs to direct the overall aircraft design
team activities.
• Established weight targets, focusing the team on achieving overall weight reduction goals
and subsequent weight reduction activities.
• Developed the procedures and acquired the equipment required to perform the actual
weight and balance process for the prototype jet and subsequent production builds.
• (Resulting in reducing the standard aviation weight and balance determination time by
80% and greatly eliminated the potential for employee injuries).
