Research Technician May 2008-Present

Washington University School of Medicine: Department of Pediatrics

Facility manager of a zebra fish breeding laboratory used for genetic research by the

Department of Pediatrics. Responsibilities include: Assisting the investigator with

research studies, experiments and assays including collection of data, preparation of

solutions and set-up and maintenance of equipment. Maintaining files on research and

assists with data entry and coordinating tissue cultures, reagents and probe tests. Assures

compliance with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on

laboratory and specimen conditions. Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly

cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures. Also responsible for

training new lab members and supervising the weekend student workers.

Laboratory Assistant May 2007-May 2008

Washington University School of Medicine: Department of Pediatrics

Part time position where the weekend maintenance of the zebrafish facility was

performed. Water chemistries, pH measurements and other relevant information were

checked in order to ensure system continuity.

Satellite Communications Technician July 1998- July 2003

U.S. Air Force 375 Communications Squadron

Çompleted basic electronics and satellite communications training that was used to

operate and maintain satellite communications equipment on the MILSTAR SYSTEM at

Scott AFB, Illinois. Trained incoming personnel on MILSTAR system. Managed

cryptographic equipment and ensured encryption of secure communication transmissions.

Also trained in security forces (Military Police). Granted top secret (TS-SCI) clearance.

Other Skills: Fluent in both written and spoken Spanish. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
