Greenbrier Valley Medical Center (former Columbia/HCA hospital) (122 beds)

Successfully transitioned change of ownership for two hospitals and numerous physician practices

purchased by NetCare, Inc from Columbia/HCA.

Responsible for all aspects of this 122 bed Meditech facility, which includes Acute Care, and an off site -

clinic. Departmental responsibilities include General Accounting, Data Processing, Payroll, Patient

Accounts, Materials Management, Admitting, Physician Billing Service and Medi cal Records

PROVINCE HEALTH CARE, INC.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER 1997-1998

General Hospital (83 beds)

Eureka, California

Responsible for all aspects of this 83 bed facility, which includes Acute Care, Home Health, Inpat ient and

Outpatient Rehabilitation, Sub-Acute Unit, free standing Ambulatory Surgery Center, and several off site -

clinics. Departmental responsibilities include General Accounting, Data Processing, Payroll, Patient

Accounts, Materials Management, Admitting, Utilization Review and Medical Records.

Increased E.B.I.T.D.A. by 86% or $3.1 Million in a period of 1 year utilizing a combination of revenue

enhancement, utilization review, reduction in labor cost, increased compliance of utilization of purchasing

programs and effective billing procedures.

Successfully converted the Hospital Information System from Mediquist to Meditech and interface

hospital systems to the corporate information system.

QUORUM HEALTH RESOURCES, INC.

Responsible for all financial aspects of this 122 bed facility. This includes General Accounting, Data

Reduced Bad Debt Expense from 8.3% of Gross Revenue to 4.3%.

Reduced Gross A/R Days 27% from 78 Days to 60 Days.

Pinellas Community Hospital (154 Beds)

Responsible for all financial aspects of this 154 bed facility: General Accounting, Payroll, Data

Processing, Patient Accounts, Materials Management, Admitting, Medica l Records, Social Services and

Utilization Review.

Responsible for the establishment of a separate corporation whose objective was to establish a PHO

network.

COMMUNITY HEALTH SYSTEMS, INC.

ASSISTANT CONTROLLER 1991-1993

University General Hospital

Women’s Hospital & Medical Center (239 beds)

Seminole, Florida

Responsible for the following departments for both hospitals: General Accounting, Data Processing and

Accounts Payable. Other responsibilities include budgeting, strate gic planning, all Health Care Cost

Containment Board (HCCB) reporting, as well as Medicare Cost Reports.

Major accomplishments included conversion of the main -frame computer system. Also removed both

hospitals from penalty situations with HCCB totaling a pproximately $4,000,000.

TAMPA GENERAL HOSPITAL

FINANCIAL ANALYST 1990-1991

Tampa, Florida (1000 beds)

Involved in the preparation of the operations and capital equipment budgets for this 1000 bed facility.

Prepared the hospital’s annual Florida Health Care Cost Containment Board Report.

Involved in implementation of a new Budgeting computer system for the facility.

Assisted in numerous financial feasibility studies.

HUMANA HOSPITAL SOUTH BROWARD

ASST. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/FINANCE 1988-1990

Served as Acting Associate Executive Director/Finance for approximately six months while CFO was on

maternity leave.

Responsible for the following departments: General Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Data

Responsible for all reporting to the Florida Hospital Cost Containment Board. In addition, responsible
