Johns Manville: Waterville Technical Manager (Waterville, OH 2/07-5/09)

• Formulated additives which bolstered filtration efficiency 1 to 2 MERV ratings.

• Created high dust capacity media that achieved dust holding greater than 100

grams.

• Designed a ceiling facer by adjusting glass fiber ratios opacity.

• Designed a spray process to evenly supply coatings across wide widths.

• Greatly improved the safety of Johns Manville pilot line by leading a team that

put in new safety equipment, and that wrote standard operating procedures, job

safety procedures, and hazard energy control procedures, accompanied by training

documentation.

Owens Corning (9/96-2/07)

=>Product Developer/Technical Marketing Manager (Granville, OH 4/03-2/07)

• Executed lightning fast (May to July 1st) development of gypsum facers by

finding ways around existing patents, finding toll coaters, buying raw

materials, and provided acrylic/mineral/aqueous formulation detail to a toll

coater.

• Located/scaled-up 4 toll coaters with the help of purchasing and another engineer.

• Assisted in sourcing, specifying, and scaling up a 50+ million dollar coating line.

• Wrote gypsum facer patent application.

Served as interim leader of the Veil Technologies group. Led group of four and

reviewed which patent applications to pursue.

=>Senior R&D Engineer (Apeldoorn, Netherlands 1/02 – 4/03)

• International Assignment --- learned basic Dutch.

• Supported on-going ceiling sales with technical servicing of defects, paint issues.

• Consulted in the design of a specialty 3-meter wide wet-lay line in Apeldoorn.

• Wrote several patent applications in the area of decorative-structured veils.

• Bonded Twintex (PP/glass) to PVC with a PVC/glass nonwoven compatibilizer.

• Discovered a method to compression mold PVC/glass nonwovens.

• Started patent investigation on right to practice.

• Developed cost structures for Decillion primary and secondary processed grades.

=>Technical Systems Expert/Senior Scientist (Aiken, SC 9/96-6/00)

• Led a team to reduce wrinkle defects resulting in efficiencies increasing by 5%.

• Part of a team that sourced and specified the Danville IKO wet-lay mat line.

• Supervised 5 people as team leader.

• Developed polypropylene and polyphthalamide long glass fiber thermoplastic

grades.

• Developed stainless steel grades for anti-static applications.

• Doubled production rates with propriety equipment improvements.

• Developments have lead to long term multi-millions dollars of sales for LNP.
