• Identified the need for, and established, an Inventory Control Supervisor position as well as a Master Scheduler
position. Promoted from within, no additional head count added.
• Established ABC counting for all SKU’s as first step in establishing a cycle counting program.
• Established Customer Order Review Meetings which led to a $1,000,000 reduction of Past Due Orders.
• Organized and led the Physical Inventory. Organization skills led to process being completed in half the time
previously experienced. Saved approximately $200,000.
• Led efforts to establish Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for all hardware items.

Responsible for all Purchasing, Inventory Management, Scheduling, and Shipping & Receiving activities for plants in
Marshall, MI, San Marcos, TX and Matamoros, Mexico. Initially, direct reports included Purchasing Manager, Shipping
& Receiving Supervisor, Master Scheduler, and three Planners. Due to significant loss of business in 2007, several
positions were eliminated. Became directly responsible for all Purchasing activities with the loss of the Purchasing
Manager. Indirect reports numbered as many as ten.
• Developed global strategy for procuring product. Developed suppliers in Poland, Greece, Italy, and the U.K.
• Worked directly with Logistics provider, resolving transportation issues for international shipments.
• Developed cycle counting program that improved inventory accuracy to above 98%, which led to the avoidance
of conducting a full Physical for 2006 and 2007. End result was savings of approximately $700,000.
• Led inventory reduction efforts that resulted in a 40% reduction during fiscal year 2008.
• Negotiated price reductions and orchestrated spot buys of brass rod that resulted in cost savings/cost avoidance of
approximately $10,500,000 in 2007.
