Implemented new Import and Export methods to reduce costs associated with freight and customs

MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Implemented cycle count procedures in December 2000 to reduce inventory variances in

the ERP system. This improved the physical inventory held in June 2001 to less than 3%

variance compared to the previous inventory, which had a 14% variance.

By implementing Just-in-Time delivery schedules, I was able to reduce the facility’s

inventory dollars from $2.6 million to $ 1.1 million without negatively impacting on time

delivery to our customers.

Identified overseas sources and negotiated with North American suppliers to achieve

$527,000 in material cost reductions for the current production items in the Mexico facility

and $355,000 in the Indiana location in 2001.

Assigned to our Monterrey Mexico facility with the task of turning around a non-profitable

operation by gaining control of processes and procedures. Within 3 months the facility

changed from losing over $100,000 per month to profitable operation in line with our other

North American locations.

production planning in order to meet marketing goals.

- Supervised the Production Scheduler in the daily distribution of manufacturing orders to the floor.

- Supervised daily activities with the Shipping Department Head to ensure product was shipped as

scheduled.

- Assigned to the 8-person computer implementation team with primary responsibility being the

migration from a large inventory carrying system to a complete MRP production system.

Developed a method of balancing product configuration in each scheduled work cell. This

increased production efficiency and reduced the standard lead-time for product from an

average of 4 weeks to 1.5 weeks.
