I) One year Six month experience in the Production of Leather at Erode, Tamil

nadu, (Jul 1994 – Dec., 1995) as Microbiologist.

Chief tasks handled at Leather field:

• Involved in production of Leather upto chrome tanning process.

• Microbiological analysis of chrome tanned leather.

• Control of microbes on chrome tanned leather.

Biotechnology:

Totally twelve year experience in the field of Biotech – Upstream

fermentation and down stream bio-product recovery.

II) Eight year Experience in the Production of Bio- pesticides at TUTICORIN

ALKALI CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS LTD, Chennai (SPIC – Group)

Jan.1996 – Oct.2003) as Production Microbiologist.

Chief tasks handled at Bio-pesticides field: (Microbiology, Fermentation, Product

recovery & Formulation)

• Preservation and Maintenance of Production strains.

• Preparation of bacterial seed inoculums for the batch process.

• Preparation and sterilization of bacterial growth and production medium in 75L

and 5KL fermenters (M/s Bio Engineering AG, Switzerland equipped with

automated biocontrol systems –SCADA) respectively for seed and production

fermentation.

• Monitor and maintain the bioprocess cultivation parameters during fermentation.

• Operation of continuous nozzle discharge disc and bowl centrifuge for biomass

recovery.

• Formulation of biomass.

• Quality control analysis of formulated finished bioproducts.

• Preparation and sterilization of bacterial growth and production medium in 200L

and 4KL fermenters respectively for seed and production fermentation.

• Monitor and maintain the bioprocess cultivation parameters during fermentation

• Operation of down stream process equipments such as Disc-stack Centrifuge,

Homogenizer, Ultra-filtration and Column chromatography for bioproduct

recovery.

• Co-ordinate with Quality assurance and Quality control microbiologists during

fermentation & down stream processing for better product recovery and activity

production of Bio-catalysts Viz., Hydrolase enzyme.

• Planning and execute the batch seed and production fermentations activities.

• Documentation of Fermentation batches data’s.
