Manage all HR functions for 250 employee/38physician medical specialty group. Includes administering
benefit program, development of policies and procedures, development of training programs, development
of job descriptions and development/administration of compensation program.
Responsible for all the day-to-day activities of the HR department such as interviewing, managing
employee records, conducting orientation sessions, disciplinary actions, unemployment, workers
compensation and coordination of training.
Oversee Compliance /HIPAA issues as related to medical practices including monitoring physician and

Manage affirmative action program. Analyze information and prepare affirmative action plan, review
accomplishments, goals for upcoming year, develop and conduct training programs for
managers/supervisors, as well as the preparation of division’s good faith efforts in relation to recruitment,
advertisement, and promotion efforts.
Manage the recruitment process of all hourly and salaried personnel in non-union manufacturing facility of
1400 employees. Number of contingent (part-time) hires: 50/60 per year. Number of entry level hires –
50/100
Manage the promotion process. Refined and reinstituted dimension-based selection process for promotions
and direct hires thereby reducing employee concerns of the selection process by 95%. Number of
promotion packages – 30/40 per year
Coordinate job fairs and college recruitment. Female/minority direct hires increased through participation
in these events. Average 2/3 hires per year as direct hires not through on premise temp agency.
Manage the on premise temp-to-hire agency. Interface with on premise manager concerning conversions of
temp personnel to full time, supervisor concerns, staffing, monthly reporting and processes/policies to
follow. Staffing through the temp agency is from 50 in non peak season to 190 in peak season.
Facilitate unemployment claims. Initiated the review of all claims and appealing those which would not
qualify. Attend appeal hearings. Estimated savings $5,000 to 8,000 per year.
Initiated the supplemental secretarial pool which provides a pool of trained internal/external individuals
who backfill for secretaries when on vacation, training, sick leave, etc.
Chaired the Employment and Recruitment Committee of the Division Diversity Council for three years.
Initiated high school senior day visits as recruitment tool for summer and entry level employment
opportunities. Number of hires from this event – 5/10 part time/full time hires per year.
Grant administration. In 2005, researched and obtained a State of Ohio grant for training worth $30,000 for
2005 and $35,000 for 2006. In 2004, researched and obtained a State of Ohio tax credit and grant for
training and equipment valued at $536,500 over a seven year period. In 2002, obtained and managed a
$25,000 State of Ohio training grant.
Main participator in the ISO certification and recertification process. Wrote all of the recruitment and
training work instructions. Main person interviewed when auditing the recruitment and training program.
