PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Caterpillar Electronics - Moss Ville, IL 2008 – 2009
Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) Engineer - Engine Valves and Actuators
Successfully managed validation testing of Engine Electro-mechanical valves and actuators according to Engineering
specifications, Federal and state regulations, customer requirements and as per standard test procedures for New
Product development. Conducted FMEA studies using the Failsafe Validation tool to manage validation. Developed test
plans, procedures, setup, and reports to meet the project schedule and to present to cross-functional teams.
Accomplishments:
• Designed test fixtures using Pro-E and used in-house scrap iron for the actual construction. Procured test
equipment from within the organization, thus saving $5000 and significant time for the project.
• As a Six Sigma Green Belt, supported Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) Project by tracking field failures,
conducting failure analysis, and implementing interim corrective actions in the field, while testing proposed design
changes on the parts.
• Collaborated with suppliers for product improvement by auditing process capability reports and operating
procedures for adherence to the requirements and standards.

Aramark Clean Room Services - Burr Ridge, IL 2007
Operations Intern (Summer Internship)
Optimized the wash process by modifying wash formulas reducing water usage by 40% and increasing wash capacity.
Saved $55K annually for the plant by implementing these changes. Utilized DOE, Minitab (t-Test) and gained knowledge
about clean room work environment and ASTM particle testing.
MTAR Technologies - Hyderabad, India 2001 – 2006
Quality Engineer
Championed Quality Assurance standards, inspection procedures, analyzing drawings, assembly methods, and testing
procedures for high precision aerospace components. Implemented measuring equipment and methods to ensure
accurate verification of parts manufactured in-house and procured from the supplier. Hands-on experience in final and in-
process visual and dimensional inspection of parts as per blueprints using Vernier calipers, micrometers, air gauges,
Talyrond, CMM, profile projector, and microhite. Inspection, audit, and surveillance of all the project phases such as
fabrication, machining, assembly, testing, and delivery. Surveillance of Non-Destructive testing methods such as Liquid
Dye-Penetrant testing, Radiography testing, MPI testing on welded parts and metal castings, while gaining knowledge on
these test methods. Conducted failure analysis of non-conforming parts and implemented corrective actions and reported
the status of corrective action as Material Review Board Member while carrying out the appropriate document change.
Accomplishments:
• Represented Project team during ISO audits and conducted internal quality system audits, while maintaining
project documents as per ISO 9001:2000 requirements.
• Reduced customer complaints by 50% by developing and implementing a check sheet into the process route
document, based on Error Proofing (Poka-Yoke) principle.
• Qualified Cutting Tools, Jigs, and Fixtures for close tolerance machining processes through special gauge
designing for shop floor use considering GD&T principles.
• Collaborated with suppliers to facilitate the completion of documents and for review of First Article Inspection (FAI)
report as part of receiving process and for approval of their processes and procedures, while supporting them for
new process development.
• Prepared and distributed Quality instructions to plant personnel, while training quality inspectors on inspection
methodologies wherever necessary.
Tecumseh Products India Ltd - Balanagar, Hyderabad, India 2000 - 2001
Graduate Engineer
Hands on Experience in inspection of incoming materials from suppliers, sampling inspection of parts from the production
line and assembly of compressor components such as piston, crankshaft, connecting rod, crank case, and outer board
bearing. Performed process capability (Cp) studies to analyze the performance of Fine Boring machine based on Six
Sigma’s 5 step problem solving approach. Mentored the shop floor personnel about Lean concepts of TPM, 5S and Poka-
Yoke in order to aid the improvement and implementation of waste removal process.
Pfizer Global Manufacturing Company - Terre Haute, IN
Graduate Research Assistant - Indiana State University - CSMS, College of Technology
Created a computer model and simulated the existing packaging line using ARENA Process software to balance the
packaging line for analysis. Conducted time studies to collect data such as cycle times and throughput rates.
Union Hospital - Terre Haute, IN
Graduate Research Assistant - Indiana State University - CSMS, College of Technology
Developed a discrete event simulation model for the hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) using ARENA Process
simulation software and analyzed it to reduce the patient wait time by 50% and to improve the resource utilization.
Performed Statistical Analysis (ANOVA, t-Test and General Linear Model (GLM)) using Minitab, SPSS to generate input
to the simulation model.
