bringing to market new technologies that meet customer needs and increase profitability.
R&D / NBD Sr. Leader, Corporate R&D - New Products 2007 – 2009
Assigned to identify and evaluate new business and growth opportunities based on broad experience and skill set
in technology development. Completed technical & commercial assessment of various exploration and options
development projects across a wide spectrum of applications and technologies. Championed the concept shaping
of a novel game changing technology for the Epoxy business; project has become one of the key enterprise R&D
initiatives.
R&D Sr. Leader, Performance Plastics & Chemicals Business Development 2006 – 2007
Hand picked by Global R&D Director to transform the Materials Science & Modeling group from a single client
and technically narrow service organization to a state of the art, multidisciplinary, global consultative entity that
could serve all Dow performance portfolio businesses. Aggressively moved to define strategy and vision,
identify gaps and acquire needed expertise and capabilities. Within one year, assembled team of internally
recognized experts and recruited fresh talent expanding significantly group size (from 10 to 30 direct reports) and
science disciplines, as well as increased project budget from $2.5 to $10MM/yr and tripled the customer base.
R&D Sr. Leader, Polypropylene 2002 – 2006
Held complete oversight for all aspects of product development and technology strategy for the Polypropylene
Business. Managed staff of 12 people, a global portfolio of growth projects, and a $3MM budget.
• Led successful development, scale-up and commercialization of a new family of resins for the packaging
industry with an NPV10=$4.2MM that also earned Dow recognition as innovator of the year in 2007 by major
customer.
Promoted the seamless and open exchange of communication across geographies and functional silos that

resulted in better project prioritization, utilization of resources and, ultimately, in reduced project turnaround
by nearly 30%.
Instilled a discipline to promptly protect intellectual property that generated over a dozen disclosures of

and toner markets. Member of management team assigned with defining and executing business plan of new
venture.
• Worked with McKenzie consultants to assess options and selected personal care applications as most
promising market; Recruited industry commercial manager and jointly mapped opportunity & customer
targets.
• Assertively moved from ideation to validation stages and led multidisciplinary team through launch of first
product in less than a year. Received prestigious company award for excellence in commercialization of new
technology.
• Supervised construction of market development unit and formed technical team to support growth in
Europe and USA.

(Joint Venture between Dow Chemical and DuPont)
Recruited by Global Director of Technology as first outside employee for the newly formed JV as one of three
technology implementation leaders chartered with opening markets for new olefin elastomers globally.
• Devised and implemented technology and business plans resulting in a rapid market penetration of new
products in the automotive, footwear and wire & cable industries. This was achieved by focusing efforts and
building partnerships with local industry leaders. training local sales force and establishing global work
teams to facilitate support to area.
• Promoted image of DDE’s technical leadership through technical conference presentations and participation
