• Reduced and restructured the organization in spite of the sudden 28% decrease in

revenue. Half of the decrease was due to a customer bankruptcy.

• Maintained progress through 3 corporate level leadership changes in 13 months by

keeping focus on process improvement and meeting 95% customer adherence.

• Sole US member of a 10 person management team accountable for managing and

directing two UK, and one US aerospace manufacturing plant. The team met monthly

in the UK.

• Participated with the team in developing strategies to expand market penetration,

developed centers of excellence within the three locations, promoted the group as one

business to the industry, and provided 24 hour AOG service globally.

• Successfully directed the operations of the manufacturing facility during the industry’s

difficult post 911 downturn with an emphasis on improving on-time delivery, containing

overhead costs, and winning a large key contract with our largest customer.

• Prepared all budgets and forecasts in cooperation with the management team.

• Presented all financial reports to periodic board meetings.

• Prepared for audits and provided tax information to McGladrey.

• Initiated and staffed ‘data integrity’ function to prevent pricing errors, and improved

efficiency by cleaning up problems in the MRP system.

• Successfully developed a simplified quoting system for standard units and related

options leading to reduced quotation turnaround times.

• Prepared financial and cash forecasts for the partner companies, and the management

team.

• Performed various analyses on financial activities; presented oral and written reports to

an international board of directors both here and in Germany.

• Participated with the Swiss partner in securing lines of credit from Harris Bank and

UBS.

Controller and Business Partner; 1987 – 1989 Continued

• Directed all accounting, cash management, and HR functions.

• Successfully converted, with two other employees, all financial, operational systems,

and data from previous owners ERP software to EMS business software in 4 months

time.

• Participated with IT and manufacturing in the implementation of a bar code system for

recording time and moving jobs through the fabrication processes.

• Developed and staffed a new HR department.

• Managed the successful completion of all administrative requirements related to setting

up Pfauter-Maag as a separate entity after the sale by Barber Colman to German and

Swiss partner companies.

• Directed all accounting for the Barber Colman Gear Cutting Tools, Metcut Indexable

Drills, Automation Group, and plating facility.

• Facilitated the integration of Metcut into the Barber Colman reporting system.

• Prior to 1986 - additional Barber Colman responsibilities include the Textile Machine

Division, Metcut Index Drills, and the Business Center for New Technology.
