Supervisor – Material Control/ Shipping and Receiving

Supervise 18 hourly employees in an union environment for the central distribution facility.

Verify the receipt of raw materials (15- 20 truck loads daily) and conduct quality and quantity inspections

against contract requirements.

Play a critical role in maintaining manufacturing schedules (production and non-production) by supervise the

on-time receipt and distribution of parts and/or assemblies.

Serve as the key contact point for 6 departments and supervisors by ensuring access to needed materials and

supplies resulting in uninterupted production.

Flexibly respond to changes in production schedules by monitoring on-hand inventories of materials, using

alternative materials when urgent changes occur, and reporting inventory shortages, discrepancies, and quality

rejections.

Prioritze scheduled shipments to satify changes in customer material requirements and deadlines.

Comply with local and national union agreements by adhering to job placement requirements and fairly

applying vacation and time-off rules.

Maintain safety, attendance and vacation records meeting both company and union requirements.

Maintain a safe working environment by monitorinng housekeeping in 3 key shipping / receiving areas.

Act as a key resource to help employees understand and interpret written and oral communications so that

they correctly priortize job assignments and use SOP (standard operating procedure) methods.
