• Enhanced waste minimization programs through core process review of industrial

work places, improving positive procurement and ensuring small quantity

generator designation for the base.

• Increased environmental awareness and training resulting in the last two

Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Inspections (ESOHCAMP) being

rated in the top percentiles for the Air National Guard.

• Brokered conversion of heating systems from fuel oil to natural gas, reducing

emissions to attain levels below Title V permitting requirements while meeting

Executive Order guidelines for conversion to native energy sources.

• Co-sponsored with Security Forces the installation of a photovoltaic perimeter

lighting system, attaining 20% of green energy goals for base and having base

well lit during summer of 2003 blackout.

• Working closely with Communications Flight qualified the base for a test program

that obtained a hydrogen powered fuel cell to use as a UPS backup for the base

telephone switch, which previously had experienced frequent system

interruptions due to power failure. Upon completion of one-year test the base

kept the fuel cell at no capital cost. There have been no power related failures for

the telephone switch system since implementation.

• Initiated integrated training and equipment program for Civil Engineering

Squadron, one of first Air National Guard Units on line. Utilizing the program CE

attained top ranking for equipment availability.

• Realigned Security Forces Squadron during transition phase, enhancing

equipment inventory, initiating with contracting office upgraded security system

contract and relocating unit from multiple substandard facilities to upgraded and

expanded quarters.

• Mentor junior officers and enlisted personnel with emphasis on highest level of

responsibility and authority for all personnel.
