PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
Electrochem Solutions, Canton, Massachusetts: Sept 2006 - Present
Manufacturing of Lithuim Batteries
Manufacturing Supervisor: Responsible for managing the production
activities of 56 employees. Supervisory activities include hiring and
selection of personal, training, scheduling and planning, performance
management, inventory control, quality control, On-Time-Delivery,
budgeting, project management, safety.
Over the Past year organized and managed Kaizan events conducting present
and future state mapping of the manufacturing lines under my
responsibility..
TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, Attleboro, Massachusetts (1984-2005
A $9 Billion World Class, Fortune 500, High Technology Manufacturer of
Sensors and Controls
Manufacturing Supervisor: Responsible for managing the production
activities of 115 employees over three shifts on the Automotive Pressure
Transducer (APT) line (largest line on this 21 acre, 23 building site).
Supervisory activities included hiring and selection of personnel,
training, scheduling and planning, performance management,
inventory control, quality control, vendor relations, On-Time -Delivery,
budgeting, project management, safety, shipping and receiving.
Responsibilities included multiple lines.
Initiated and chaired weekly meetings between manufacturing, customer
services and material planning departments that resulted in over 50%
increase in Profit From Operations with NOTD (Not On Time Delivery)
decreased from 10% to 0.3% (99.7% improvement).
Negotiated with manufacturing, design and vendor to re -work a
manufacturing assembly process that resulted in eliminating scrapped
devices and saving over $12 Million annually.
Designed and implemented a New Product/Preproduction Set Up Check List that
eliminated unnecessary downtime, changeovers, and scrap, while increasing
production efficiency. Process is still in use today domestically and
internationally.
Assisted in the planning and management process for relocating 2
manufacturing lines to Mexico, totaling $72 Million. Planned inventory
builds, preproduction validation builds, design conversions, and material
requirements to meet off-load deadline. Successfully transferred both lines
without loss of production while meeting all customer requirements.
Planned and managed the relocation of a $32.5 Million manufacturing line,
increasing production flow and introducing Lean Manufacturing Processes
that saved over 26,000 man-hours annually and improved overall efficiency
by over 68%.
Identified and informed Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering
regarding a cycle time calibration defect that was immediately resolved,
thus increasing productivity by over 55%.
Spearheaded the correction of a major manufacturing problem that eliminated
Not On Time Deliveries (NOTD) and material losses. Resulted in 60% revenue
net gain.
Successfully scheduled and completed 15 new product launches on time,
resulting in a total of over $250 Million revenue annually.
Responsible for the organization and management of the year-end physical
inventories (5 lines consisting of $300 Million) for all of Automotive
Pressure Transducers. Resulted the first physical inventory with nettable
Work In Progress (WIP) that came in within 2% (Cells 2 & 3) and 8% (CSE,
Cleanroom).
Designed, implemented and managed a complex Cell 2/3 planning and
scheduling process to coordinate the application of wiring harnesses on two
separate devices (MSG & APT) while both lines were running at full
capacity. Cell 2/3 harnessing process met and exceeded all demands.
Organized and managed 4 Continuous Improvement Teams consisting
Manufacturing Engineers, Manufacturing Technicians, and Key Production
Operators that identified and resolved all production, quality and safety
issues.
Worked closely with Design Engineering to create a scheduling form for
prototypes that met production and engineering needs.
Successfully met forecasted monthly unit plan 75% of the time in 2003 in
spite of unstable forecasting, customer drop ins pull ins material and
staffing issues. Resulted in achieving 44.2% Profit From Operation (PFO)
for the year with record of 181K for September.
Met all delivery and quality events (4204) for 2003 with only .3% (.003, or
16) resulting in Continuous Improvement Coordinator Responsible for
designing and setting up all manufacturing JIT stock points and continuous
improvement projects related to developing new systems and LEAN
Manufacturing processes for the Automotive Pressure Transducer Line
(largest line on site).
