Entrepreneurial startup in June 2008, took company to number one in new franchise sales in first year.

Complete responsibility for all daily functions including operations, sales, accounting and administration.

VP / Dir – Operations, Manufacturing & Sales, 1997-2008; Allstar Corp., Downingtown, PA

VP/ Dir – Manufacturing and Operations, 2000-2008

Responsible for over 100 employees in manufacturing and production of commercial and residential door

and gate operators, with five direct reports, 8 indirect, and up to 90 hourly employees; Direct

responsibility for; metal fabrication department, producing over 80% of parts requirements for four

production lines; electronics production, assembly and repair departments, liaising with manufacturing on

new product requirements and with customer service for timely repair and return of defective products;

purchasing, shipping and receiving departments, MRP planning and coordinating movement of raw materials

in and finished goods out for maximum production while minimizing inventory costs; and quality control,

ensuring both raw materials coming in and finished goods going out met company specifications. Worked

closely with engineering on new product development and ongoing manufacturing projects.

Implemented lean manufacturing techniques to reduce production labor requirements by 45%

while maintaining existing level of production and quality of product.

Initiated ongoing project to bring metal stampings/parts fabrication in-house, reducing

reliance on outside vendors by 50% and resulting in significant parts cost savings and reduced

raw, WIP, and finished goods inventory on hand.

Managed implementation of new product manufacturing line projects for maximum efficiency

and cost savings following Six Sigma and TQM initiatives.

Successfully coordinated two Kaizen events for DVIRC lean manufacturing projects.

Established in-house Kanban system for maximum efficiency and lower inventory costs.

Established and administered a company Safety Committee, effectively reducing time lost to

accidents to zero.
