PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
ZODIAC AEROSPACE/AVOX SYSTEMS, INC., Lancaster, New York 2002 - 2009
Senior Systems Analyst
Provided technical expertise and specific knowledge in support of the company’s payroll and human
resource systems requiring specific software development skills extending to vendor modules from Infinium
Software, Inc. (now SAA Global Inc.). Initiated transformation from paper-based to digital/electronic
standard promulgated in the areas of forms processing, digital signatures, training aides and the
inter/intranet. Effected enhancements to the company web site by providing secure access to standard
business documents by external Zodiac sales and service centers (Invoices, POs, Back Logs, FAA Tags,
etc.). As primary software architect, conceptualized, designed and created the first employee intranet.
• Created automated interface between the company ERP system and web site to publish time sensitive
FAA quality assurance documentation. FAA audits identified AVOX as being the first in the industry to
undertake such a web initiative and is evaluating this as a model for other companies.
• Using vendor forms-processing software, FormSprint (IBM iSeries) and StreamServe (MS Server
2003), instituted automated emailing, digital image archiving and printer routings of various document
outputs from the company’s manufacturing ERP system.
• Instituted the concept of “Smart Forms” when converting many internal forms from paper-based to
electronic processing. Leveraged MS Excel and Visual Basic constructs for these forms and
automated form completion assistance behaviors that varied in response to user actions.
• Primary technical resource in the conversion of the in-house payroll and human resource systems
from Infinium Software Inc. to ADP Inc. and a later change to Paychex.
• Developed a time & attendance system utilizing bar coded swipe cards (eventually, proximity cards),
vendor software, and custom MS Excel-based time summarization tools to replace a manual system.
• Developed various training aids using MS PowerPoint presentations adapted to employ actual screen
shots, color, comments and animation that “walk” the viewer through processing steps in a manner
that emulates the actual software environment.
• Participated in the conversion of the company’s core ERP manufacturing system from Infor/Mapics
(IBM iSeries) to QAD/MfgPro (HP Unix).
• Redesigned or authored and centralized numerous distinct databases scattered throughout the
company used for Contract Control & Monitoring, Facility Maintenance, Hazardous Compound
Certifications, Countries of Origin Verification, Cost of Sales and Labor Cost Analysis, Business Unit
Forecasting, and Customer Feedback Services. My efforts improved data capture accuracy,
information centralization, eliminated duplication, and provided reliable, scheduled backups.
• Created a network-based annual salary review that reduced planning cycle from 3 months to 1 week.
