EXPERIENCE

BALL PLASTIC CONTAINER CORPORATION, Watertown, WI 2001 – 2009

A supplier of plastic packaging, to the beverages, food and household product industries. This location has

four lines capable of producing 250 million polyethylene terephthalate (PET) plastic bottles a year.

Quality Systems Manager

Responsible for all levels of quality control/quality assurance including continuous improvement

initiatives. Provide guidance to maintenance department in planning and implementation of

maintenance activities. Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting of blow molding equipment.

Manage the process of corrective action development in conjunction with engineering and

support services. Provide all quality training in the plant.

Setup and implemented all Quality Systems procedures for the plant, including SOP’s, work

instructions, Good Manufacturing Procedures and Statistical Process Control Systems.

Worked with Ball Corporate engineers in developing qualification procedures to support new

customer specifications through the use of capability studies and implementing results.

Reduced customer complaints and DMR costs through the use of gauge R & R studies and

made corrections to the equipment and procedures resulting in a 70% reduction of customer

complaints and 63.2% reduction of DMR costs.

Led and participated in PIT (Process Improvement Teams) to improve safety, quality and

production. Served on the Corporate PIT for PET bottle defects to develop procedures and

preventative actions to reduce defects. Received an award for being instrumental in the

reduction of defects.

Obtained Certification as an ISO 9001-2000 Lead Quality Auditor setting up, implementing

and training all employees in the Auditing System for the facility resulting in improvements

in Quality as well as performance.

Trained all personnel in AIB and GMA requirements increasing awareness thus resulting in a

score of 96.16% out of 100% in an AIB audit performed by our Customer.

Developed, setup, and maintained the maintenance system software for the plant. Trained all

maintenance personnel on usage of this software and worked with them on troubleshooting

equipment for failures resulting in better maintenance performance and reduction of

downtime.

Worked as Master Processer for the plant, training all personnel on how to process PET

Bottles successfully resulting in a reduction of quality defects.

Participated and Led Kaizens to target reduction of scrap and increase efficiency.
