Work Experience
5/2008 - 4/2009 WPM Southern, LLC - Administrative Assistant
•
As assistant to an engineer and project manager, I utilized skills I gained in AutoCAD and
Engineering Technology courses to aid in bid compilations and mapping job sites. I employed my
skills in Microsoft Excel and Word to prepare payrolls for entry, monitor costs related to
governmental purchase orders and facilitate office correspondence. My office management duties
included negotiating with vendors, maintaining job specific purchase records for accounts payable
and billing customers.
12/2007 - 5/2008 Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) - Volunteer
•
Assisting an environmental biologist, I participated in the enforcement of ACOE permit conditions
and investigation of unauthorized activity in US waters and wetlands. Here I was able to use and
update my skills with Microsoft office tools to aid in data entry, presentations, research and field
investigations.
8/2005 - 12/2007 Caregiver, Family Business Administrator, Part-time Student
•
During this period I was blessed with the time and resources to care for my mother and serve as
the family business, legal and health service administrator for both of my parents. Also, I used this
time for self-study programs and attending college courses to satisfy personal interests and
explore new career paths.
9/2002 - 8/2005 Student at Florida Gulf Coast University and Edison College
•
With the objective of changing to a career in a medical science or healthcare field, I attended
college full-time toward a bachelor’s degree in biology and certification in radiography. I worked
full-time shifts in a hospital and a private radiography office as an intern while participating in the
radiographic technology program at Edison College. Here I learned a great deal about information
flow, procedures and technology in the field of medical imaging.
10/1995 - 9/2002 Lee County Clerk of Courts - Information Systems Engineer
•
After taking courses in computer programming and developing my skills on the job, I served as
programmer, analyst and leader on several large programming projects. My contributions here
were significant and key to the successful production of complete software applications and
interfaces to existing and off-the-shelf software packages that were used by the office of the Lee
County Clerk of Courts for years. Working with Pascal, Speedware and Visual Basic programming
languages, procedural and object-oriented programming methods and relational databases,
including Oracle and Access, I gained complete experience in all phases of the software
development process.
In my most recent years here, I trained as a JD Edwards OneWorld Application Developer and
System Administrator. I became an in-house expert in the customization and configuration of
several critical financial applications and served as a key participant in a major system upgrade.
Working closely with budget analysts, I created software applications and set up intricate data
mining and report designs that played a major role in the preparation of the annual budget for Lee
County, Florida.
