Career Accomplishments
Eliminated 90% of product problems after implementing quality review process for division of Applied Materials.
The TCG division had a product development process (PDP) that had no QA involvement. Formed a design assurance
group to participate at all reviews, focusing on design quality. Group provided monthly status reports and alerted
management when issues jeopardized the release dates. Resulted in TCG division having successful product releases
with the least amount of factory and installation problems.
Reduced factory and customer nonconformance rates by 50%, and received a quality recognition award at
Applied Materials. Company built semiconductor capital equipment for customers, Intel and AMD, and international
foundries. Manufacturing and customer site nonconformance rates were at unacceptable levels. Assembled cross-
functional initiative team to implement preventive action corporate–wide. Eliminated errors by identifying and
implementing a unified process and system to which all workers adhered. Identified and resolved issues with suppliers.
Developed and implemented a proactive quality management system, achieving ISO 9001 registration throughout
the TCG Division with 700 personnel. Hired by Applied Materials to develop and implement a quality management
system. Developed a deployment plan and gained buy in from TCG executives. Developed the TCG quality system
manual and associated procedures and work instructions to document critical processes. Conducted training sessions and
internal audits. Developed a quality management system that added value and increased productivity.
Raised quality bar by implementing an internal audit program, achieving highest rating in division for Western
Digital. Performed gap analysis against ISO 9002 requirements and found several deficiencies. Identified areas needing
improvement. Recruited and trained new auditors to be more thorough. Efforts resulted in new training for employees
and development of clearly defined work procedures. Internal audit process became a tool to continuously improve
business.
Cut production time in half and doubled production capacity by implementing new assembly process at Cougar.
Company had no sequential assembly line. Introduced flow manufacturing assembly line. Collaboratively worked with
manufacturing engineers to deliver a new self verified work system. Reduced production time from 28 to 14 days.
