I have joined the new e-business initiative, 24x7 shift team, covering all aspects of e-business hosting.

Supporting Windows 2000/NT, Pseries, Linux and Sun servers. Problem determination of any of the four O/S’s

outlined, monitoring backups, resolving any backup issues. Planning and carrying out change requests, resolving

any high severity issues adhering to SLAs. Sanity checking all pre-production servers and correcting any flaws in

the build before they are transitioned into production and also very much involved in the AiX Administration role

as outlined below.

September 1999 – April 2004: e-Business Web Hosting UNIX Administrator, IBM Ltd, Warwick, UK.

I am a member of the IBM Web Hosting AiX Administration team, responsible for hosting complex

e-Business customer solutions in USA and UK on over 1500 RS\6000 Pseries servers, covering all aspects of

AiX Systems Administration. As a Unix Administrator my duties involve:

UNIX Administration, (AiX 4.3.x and 5.x) – Providing third level support to e-Business Customers.

Fine Tune AiX servers for better performance.

Upgrades, which includes OSlevel, RML, Microcode and APARs needed.

Project work, deployment from Nim Server - Network Dispatcher, Webserver, Application and Database

images, configured from a technical solution on the latest RS/6000 hardware.

Co-ordinated and implemented a test environment (£10M project) for a large customer using Nim server on a

wide variety of Pseries servers, worked with Implementation Managers, Service Managers, Application

Developers, together we successfully managed and delivered the project on time ready for customer to test –

March 2004.

With IBM off shoring to Bangalore, I have assisted in the transition and trained the new Bangalore team with all

procedures (2005).
