Assistant Controls Engineering Dept. Manager

Responsible for the daily operations of the Controls Engineering Department. Also provide support for

the Controls Department Manager, performing the duties during his absence. (Department manager spent

roughly 80% of his time out of the country) Department was responsible for design, implementation and

documentation of control systems for complete line of equipment, including electrical, pneumatic and

hydraulic systems.

• Supervised a staff of one to three electrical engineers. One permanent employee, normally one to two

contract engineers.

Project Engineer, Corporate High Purity Engineering Group (1997–2002)

Led projects which supported high purity division in the areas of process improvement and development.

• Sole contributor to a 5-month project setting up a new Abrasive Flow process. Brought an outsourced

process in-house, improving quality, lead time and reducing costs by 70%. Project included the design,

installation and programming of new PLC machine controls to satisfy ergonomic requirements.

• Led 4 member project team to purchase and implement 3 electro-chemical processing lines to support a

$10+ million initiative implementing a new product design and processes. Served as contact with

equipment manufacturer, including being the liaison with process R&D scientists. Tracked $2+ million

budget.

Design Engineer, Corporate Model Shop (1992–1997)

Designed and implemented various types of equipment and upgrades for the automation and system

integration division which provided services to all corporate manufacturing divisions. Duties included

mechanical and electrical design of automated part handling and assembly equipment.

Designed and implemented improvements to machine tools supporting the machine tool rebuilding /
