Senior Inventory Control Planner
• Served as buyer/planner for all inventory items related to the horizontal window covering
program which exceeded $50 million dollars annually in purchases.
• Scheduled up to fifty container shipments per month from Asia and Mexico for delivery to all
domestic distribution centers.
• Put into practice many of the philosophies of JIT and TQM which led to a reduction in
inventory value from $35 to $25 million and increased turnover from 1.7 to 3.2.
• Negotiated a vendor stocking program for the roll forming department which reduced lead
times from three weeks to three days and reduced inventory by 66% (from $250 K to $85K).

• Managed and directed a staff of five employees responsible for the procurement, scheduling
and warehousing of all production and MRO supplies.
• Initiated the implementation of work cells which encourage employee participation and
eliminated the need for order pullers which lead to annual savings of $30K.

enabled the buyer to focus on managing the “A” and “B” inventory items.
• Overhauled the inventory process (receiving, storing, and cycle counts) and shared with the co-
workers various inventory management techniques which led to improved inventory accuracy

• Heavily involved with the implementation team for an MRPII system in 1994 that included
entering all costs, warehouse locations, and setting the purchasing and inventory parameters.
