within the infrastructure of a power authority’s electrical plant. Perform a high level assessment of the electrical plant’s

distribution topology to develop network requirements for delivery broadband Internet access products, telephony services,

and “Smart Grid” automation.

• Creation of an extensible financial modeling program to capture and evaluate network deployment drivers

resulting in a reporting system capable of deriving CAPEX impacts over time. Reduced the time to develop a

financial model to deploy a network of 2 million homes passed from a 3 month cycle to under 2 weeks.

design engineers responsible for network development in 4 major US cities.

BPL Network Design Manager

Managed the engineering network design department’s activities surrounding the Broadband Over Power line

infrastructure and transport network on a national scale. Developed manpower allocation schedules (10 network design

engineers, 2 supervisory staff, and 2 quality control analysts) to meet customer expectations for timely deployment cycles.

Coordinated with fiber transport engineering and construction crews to ensure proper installation of BPL equipment and

optimum signal propagation into the designed network footprint.

requirements based on expected customer growth. Reviewed and approved engineering preferred vendor arrangements and

project authorization for spending allocations. Other duties included research and development of new commercial services

offerings upon request from the commercial sales division. New product development projects would undergo a formal

customer needs assessment program to develop requirements definitions and allocation of internal work resources to assess

project scope, timelines, and priority deliverables.
