BUSINESS EXPERIENCE

Meteor Sealing Systems, LLC 2007 - 2009

Project Manager / Product Development Engineer

Responsible for design and development of OEM rubber sealing systems for the automotive industry and

related off-road equipment market. Meteor Sealing System, LLC is the US based division of Meteor

Gummiwerkes located in Bockenem, Germany and produces 40 million dollars in sales annually.

Provided hands on development, management, and implementation of sun roof seal programs for

leading international Tier-1 OEM sun roof suppliers.

Developed the seal package for the second generation International Truck, IC Bus Division school bus

folding entry door program.

Developed injection molded and extruded rubber seal designs, test fixtures, and tooling with Catia V5

and created implementation plans for a variety of automobiles and on/off- road vehicles. I was also

responsible for concept generation, mock-ups, and on-site project support.

Obtained training that allowed me to serve as a RABQSA certified ISO-9001:2000 and TS-16949:2002

internal auditor and was also a member of the TS Audit Preparation Team and as an ISO-14001

Environmental Auditor.

Pretty Products, Incorporated, Coshocton, Ohio 2004 - 2007

Product Development / Engineering Manager

Responsible for the design and development of both OEM and aftermarket floor mat systems for the

automotive industry. Pretty Products, Inc. was a subsidiary of the Lancaster Colony Corporation and

produced 300 million dollars in sales annually.

Designed and implemented injection molded and compression molded floor mat systems- systems for

such customers as General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Subaru, and AM General.

Developed a family of compression molded heated mats for use in automotive floor systems,

architectural entrance ways, wheelchair ramps, and agricultural markets.

Developed floor mat systems and packaging concepts for brand labeled Wal-Mart, Target, Auto Zone,

and Canadian Tire.

Provided hands-on development for the re-design of the injection molded Dee-Zee battery box line for

the camping and boating industry.

As with most projects, I have taken the product from concept sketch through to production with a hands-

on approach. This included creating 3D models, lay-outs, BOMs, tooling procurement, and first article

inspection.

The Gradall Company, New Philadelphia, Ohio 1997- 2003

Industrial Design Engineer / Senior Industrial Designer

Responsible for the design and development of molded components and assemblies that were used in the

manufacturing of heavy construction equipment. Annual sales volume exceeded 200 million dollars.

Developed a robust plastic fender for use on Gradall truck mounted excavators that represented a 60%

reduction in price over the steel unit it replaced with both AutoCAD R14 and SDRC I-DEAS 3D Solids

Modeling Package.

Created concept sketches and developed the current family identity design for the Gradall excavator and

material handler product lines utilizing AutoCAD R14 and the SDRC I-DEAS Package.

Identified opportunities and managed the implementation of molded composite parts that replaced steel

components in the production of excavators and material handlers. This included fuel tanks, dashboard

assemblies, fenders, bumpers, body panels, floor mats, and consoles. All of which started as concept

sketches and ended as solid models and were guided personally through development with a hands on

design approach.

Guided the Excavator and Material handler groups in the design of a common operator cab platform that

was capable of passing the European safety regulations and achieving the CE mark of acceptance.

W orked with vendors to created and implement design standards for all excavator production decals.

Also created cost saving decal kits for the excavator line that reduced their production expenditures by

$50,000 dollars a year. Utilized AutoCAD to create the graphics and text utilized in production.

Zimmer Patient Care Dover, Ohio (formerly A Bristol Myers-Squibb Co.) 1996 - 1997

Industrial Designer / Engineering Assistant

Assisted with the design of enclosures for capital medical equipment and disposable patient care goods

produced by the Patient Care Division of (the now) Zimmer Orthopedics.

Helped guide the Pulsavac PT Series wound debridement development team transition from concept

sketches to a functioning prototype in less than 90 days as part of rapid prototype development project.

Performed much of the sheet metal and thermal formed case development with AutoCAD R13.

Executed and completed engineering change notice requests and drawing revisions for current

production and new product development projects with AutoCAD R13

Returned as a consultant and developed the injection molded case design model for the ATS-2000 and

ergonomic study designs for the hand held Pulsavac II wound debridement system.

Firovac Fire Apparatus, Apple Creek, Ohio 1994 - 1995

Sales Engineer / Project Engineer Part-Time 1995 - 2005

Responsible for the design and production of custom built self-loading high-performance tankers for the fire

service while maintaining aggressive production schedules.

Consulted and produced custom specifications and layout drawings for customers who were in the

process of bidding self-loading high-performance tankers or brush trucks.

Completed a mid-life product styling update of the Firovac product line that resulted with a more

aesthetically pleasing and cost reduced design.

Personally designed and laid-out over 300 custom fire trucks designs for potential customers over a ten-

year period while utilizing AutoCAD and Cadkey 97.
