KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Implemented cross-platform training sessions for all staff of the data center to reduce operational errors at
Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in early 2003, the company averaged nearly five operational
errors per week, but by 2006 to 2009, accidents occurred on an average of less than once per year.
• Designed and introduced a media data base for daily reconciliation of all backup media from the barcode legacy,
ADSM backup, TSM backup, and Arcserve backup platforms. This involved nearly 25,000 pieces of backup
media located in 4 separate physical locations.
• Played a key role in the design, installation, and certification of a contingency facility; provided to-scale floor plans
for a caged data center area, a 120-seat user area, and a 20-seat Enterprise Operations Command Center.
• Served as project manager at AT&T Wireless Services during the data center closures and system relocations for
Pittsburgh, Orlando, Minneapolis, Sacramento, and Paramus locations (to Dallas or Seattle). All phases of these
relocations were completed on time with no negative impacts to everyday business.
• Spearheaded all aspects of the CBIS Financials Gateway Project while introducing and initiating a cost saving
method to move 200 gigs of financial data via SNA (vs. a dedicated system at CBIS), leading toward annual
savings of $2.1M.

Manager - Global Production Management
Oversaw daily operational processing activities across all platforms and supervised a 10-member staff, which provided
around-the-clock support coverage. Managed and delivered all business critical processing to meet and exceed global
based SLAs of 99% for the Middle East, European, and Americas regions. Monitored and updated the company’s
disaster contingency testing processes.
• Administered several processes within the Asset Management Project, which included the installation and
configuration of a central repository for inventory of all hardware and software assets.
• Proposed and implemented the Production Acceptance Criteria Process established the requirements needed for
the acceptance of operational ownership by data center operations for all new and existing systems and
applications.
• Created the initial operational documentation library for all core applications serviced and supported by the data
center staff. This library included all detailed procedures, guidelines, and processes.
• Redesigned and standardized operational checklists for all core applications, which drastically reduced and
eliminated extraneous and redundant checklists.
• Initiated Barcode Labeling of manually controlled legacy backup media (with an archive storage vendor) involving
over 13,000 pieces of media.
• Designed and led the activation of the Enterprise Operations Command Center at the Jersey City (NJ) Data Center
and the Teleport/Telehouse contingency Enterprise Operations Command Center in Staten Island (NY).

Data Center Shift Manager
Headed a five-member staff in charge of executing and monitoring online and overnight processing for the company’s
business needs. Initiated extensive training sessions regarding operating system processes and application processes.
• Implemented operator-incident ticket reporting and tracking processes, which ensured timely resolutions by
notifying all necessary managers and teams in rapid fashion.
• Reduced operational errors and provided more timely, effective, and reliable data transfers for the business by
assisting in the implementation of FTP services for data movements between systems and applications.
AT&T WIRELESS SERVICES
Manager - Management Systems Operations (MSO) National Data Center Operations Team (NDCO) 1997 to 2001
Directed a 9-member team that provided systems, application, and network support for over 100 servers of the VMS, SUN
UNIX, HP, UNIX, and Windows platforms. Planned and managed system relocations and data center closures.
• Proposed, designed, and implemented the National Cluster reconfiguration project, which entailed the
consolidation of databases and applications of over 70 VMS nodes into an enterprise class 3 node VMS cluster.
This project reduced hardware costs in ownership, maintenance, and licensing while providing a high level of
availability as well as significant improvements in performance.

Utilized systems and network expertise while analyzing processes for two clustered VAX environments, as well as other
standalone VAX systems (for two data centers). Offered additional administrator support for Windows 3.1, Windows for
WorkGroups 3.11, and Windows NT Workstation/server 3.51/4.0 platforms.
• Planned and executed the installation, configuration, and implementation of the contingency VMS Cluster, which
consisted of 5 separate systems with 11 bootable nodes for production, development, quality assurance, and
release environment. This project also involved an upgrade of the operating system across all nodes and
migration from DECNet Phase IV to Phase V.

Data Center Operations Manager
Assumed responsibility for the day-to-day operations of a data center that specialized in multiple hardware and software
platforms, which included VAX/VMS and the Alpha/Open VMS, SUN UNIX, AT&T UNIX, and DEC ULTRIX. Supervised a
three-member operations staff. Provided first-level system administration support for the VMS systems.
• Played a pivotal role in the Data Center Build Project at the Teleport facility in Staten Island, which was conducted
and completed with no business distractions.
