Responsibilities and Professional Experience (Oct 2008 – Present)

o Building custom applications and gathering specific requirements for Users from

Description – CvaR Corporate Value at Risk is a windows based application with

ASP.net as front end and ORACLE 10g as the backend database. Market Price files are

received from various sources, State Street bank, Bloomberg and Lehman etc, in the form

of BONDS, SWAPS, and SWOPTIONS etc in to the SUMMIT server. Using ETL tool

all the securities and prices are populated in the database, then the Pricing Model (based

on Bloomberg Model) built on VB Applications a Price for each security is generated.

Then using PL/SQL Packages with complex Stored Procedures and Functions the Prices

for the Securities are validated against a User defined Threshold Values. All the securities

which fail the validation or are flagged by the stored procedures are sent as an alert or

notified to the users through ETL again. COGNOS was used to develop reports on daily

basis.

Responsibilities – Oracle Developer (Jan 2008 – Oct 2008)

o Understand the business logic, Data model and the business requirements in a

very short frame of time.

o Deployed new versions of CVaR on every month end, involving requirement

gathering from the users, analyze efforts, build pseudo code for each task,

extensive and long hours of development phase, and run dry test on test

environments, deployment in to Production and prepare Documentation at the end

of every month.

o Involved in five releases of CVaR versions in to Production Database in a span of

six months.

o Built complex Stored Procedures, Functions using IN OUT parameters, DECODE

function, JOINS, DB LINKS, SEQUENCE generator, accessed VIEWS,

TABLES from different schemas.

o Incorporated Triggers to trigger history jobs, functions involving calculation of

dates, populating fields such as DATETIME STAMP and USERID in various

tables.

o Scripted VIEWS to hold dynamic data on a daily basis and store the data in

History tables.

o The whole system was Orchestrated i.e. all the tasks involved in ETL, VB,

PL/SQL had a Start and End function written in PL/SQL so that the date, time is

logged in the LOG schema.

o Used Clear Case for versioning.
