Resume:

Canon Patchell

E XPERIENCE

****–Present Providence Construction LLC. Fairhope, AL

Superintendent

In the latter part of 2008 JLTCC dissolved and has now partnered with

Providence Const.

I am currently fulfilling many needs within the company in hopes of

furthering my expertise in commercial, industrial and residential

construction as well as design and estimating.

My duties are primarily that of a typical Superintendent but frequently

involve management tasks as well.

2007–2009 J.L. Tatum Contracting Co. Inc. Gulfport, Ms

Superintendent

I decided to close my two building and restoration companies and begin

working for JLTCC so I could bring my expertise beyond the realm of

home building and remodeling.

Within two months of working for JLTCC I was coordinating the

construction of a 195 acre subdivision in Hattiesburg, MS from

conception to completion. I worked with and supervised crews that

performed most aspects of horizontal construction, Including water

feature design and build, extensive excavation, grade establishment,

headwalls, culverts, road base, curb and gutter, paving, shotcrete, water

line, sewer line, force main, lift stations, landscaping, brick masonry,

stone masonry, landscaping, erosion and drainage control, retention

ponds, and much more.

In mid 2008 I was moved to an 11 acre subdivision to coordinate the

development of the land and construct 42 three story luxury townhomes.

I worked with the crews during the installation of all utilities which

included sewer line and structures and water line that required well-point

assisted excavating to a depth of 12ft. We also installed porous paving in

specific areas to preserve the root systems of Live Oak trees.

While working for JLTCC I received extensive training in many fields of

construction. Including Construction Management, OSHA safety, Office

Management, Budget analysis, job tracking software, and other tasks

relating to superintendent and project manager duties.

All projects I was involved in for JLTCC were ahead of schedule and

under budget.

2006–July, 2007 B&R Contracting Gulfport, Ms

Manager

My partner and I (Danny Howard) moved our company to Biloxi, MS to

sub work from B&R.

Soon I was consulting them on all their restoration and remodeling,

personnel, and job coordination needs. After 2 months I was hired as

a manger and the owner of the company moved to Colorado. I

continued to run his (Guy Thacker) company for over 18 months. In

which time I was able to coordinate 4 in house crews, 20 subcontractors,

7 sales agents, and 3 project managers. We executed 3-10 contracts a

month involving all aspects of residential construction including drainage

and erosion control.

When I arrived at B&R Contracting their company was $140,000 in debt.

Because of the changes I implemented in the company, over the next 18

months we had overcome the deficit by more than $13,000.

2004–2006 C&D Construction Oklahoma City, OK

Owner, Partner

My partner (Danny Howard) and I bought out of Farmers construction.

We built custom homes and did a lot of restoration and remodeling. I

coordinated all aspects of the company while lending my experience to

the job site a couple of times a week.

In the summer of 2005 I went to Missouri to supervise a home building

crew for 5 months to help a friend (Hughes Construction) manage his

company and complete a surplus of work they had.

1999–2004 Farmers Construction/ Master Craft Oklahoma City, OK

Manager, Foreman

Customer consulting, sales, job coordinator. Installer.

I ran my own crew of 4-6 and coordinated another.

I trained all new employees regardless of past experience.

1998–1999 Farmers Construction Del City & Oklahoma City, OK

Foreman

I ran a crew of 3-12 men

We did all aspects of remodeling and restoration from the small siding

and window jobs to building homes with intricate custom cabinetry and

landscaping. A lot of controlled demolition, painting, fencing of all

kinds. All phases of the residential projects were with “in house”

employees. My crew handled everything that did not involve HVAC,

electrical or plumbing. Although we did do minor repairs in all three

trades.

Implemented training for all new employees.

1995–1998 Farmers Construction Del City, OK

Apprentice

Learn the ropes. I worked under a veteran every moment. Building

homes, doing a lot of exteriors and a lot of custom add-ons with the

occasional kitchen and bath remodel.

Extensive restoration and remodeling in all aspects of residential homes.

Received pay raises at twice the rate of 5 others on crew.
