assimilating Millennium into its new parent company – Lyondell Chemicals. Completed
successful 3 negotiations using Target Specific bargaining (TSB). Serve on Steering
Committee of High Performance Work Systems Group, designed to empower
employees. Served on Star Team for getting OSHA’s VVP (Voluntary Protection Plan)
awarded at both sites. Defeated union organizing drive at non-union facility.
Human Resources Superintendent – 1998 - 2002
Started with Millennium at all salaried plant and handled all aspects of HR. Developed
policies and procedures for this salaried plant; started a temporary hiring situation
using a local staffing firm; recruited nationally for engineers, superintendents and
managers. Coordinated the rollout for SAP at the entire complex, which was a 1-year
program. Transferred down to union plant in October 1999 to help with union
negotiations. Completed successful negotiations in January 2000 using the Targeted
Specific Bargaining (TSB) approach, culminating in a 52-month contract, and
negotiating team was awarded the Chairman’s Award with stock options. Developed
team based approach. Assisted in set up of an alternative dispute resolution system in
salaried plant. Reduced grievances in union plant from over 100 in 1999 to 2.
1995 – 1998 PRINTING SOLUTIONS, King of Prussia, PA

Started this quick printing operation to service businesses in the local area.
Responsible for all aspects of the operation including production, selling, planning,
customer relations and marketing. Increased sales 120% in 2nd year of business.
1994 – 1995 PRINTING INDUSTRIES OF AMERICA, Alexandria, VA
Director of Industrial Relations
Served as a resource for member printing companies that were unionized. Provided
information and expertise on wage rates, contract language and negotiation trends
nationwide. Conducted and published manning studies, wage studies and model
contract language book. Directed the publication of the National Sales Salary Survey.
Editor and writer for the Graphic Arts Employers Newsletter GAE Reporter and Around
The Bargaining Loop. Supported the Master Printers of America program which was
committed to keeping non-union plants union free.

nationally for district sales reps, scientists and technical engineers. Reduced recruiting

Full range of duties in union environment of this distribution supplier to a major fast
food chain. Participated as second decision-maker in successful union negotiations.
Developed new safety program to reduce worker’s compensation costs; started work
hardening program, which reduced back injuries by over 75%. Developed a successful
attendance control program that reduced absenteeism by over 50%.
Director of Personnel, Technology Center, West Chester, PA
Responsible for the staffing and start up of this R&D facility. During the first month,
hired 45 new employees, provided orientation, wrote employee handbook, and trained
new supervisors.
1982 – 1987 GEORGIA-PACIFIC CORP., Gypsum Division, Wilmington, DE
Personnel/Safety Manager
Administered all personnel, safety and labor relations activities in this union plant.
Developed and administered Foreman Training Program used to staff supervisory

grievances through the steps to arbitration. Administered benefits, workers
compensation, hiring and terminations, discipline, security and contract interpretation.
