Process / Project Development Engineer

Projects range from Heat Recovery, Plant Capacity Increases, Piping Modifications and New

Chemical Introductions for a total projected annual plant savings of $800,000

• Developed and implemented capital projects up to $500,000

• Led the search for alternative raw materials to be used in lactic acid fermentation

• Supervised multiple on-site contractors in installation of equipment, piping and electrical

systems

• Wrote training documents for the Plant Technicians for start-up and operation of the new

Toyal America, Inc., Lockport, Illinois 2000 – 2006

Process / Project Engineer for an aluminum powder and pigment manufacturing plant

• Redesigned the Tank Farm Piping which eliminated cross-contamination of process streams

• Improved the utilization of the Solvent Distillation Unit by developing process changes and

test methods which resulted in a capacity increase and an annual cost savings of $150K

• Conceived, developed and installed a Mop Water Recovery System which reduced Hazardous

Waste by 80% at an annual cost savings of $75K

• Led a $300K production line upgrade resulting in a 30% capacity increase

Supervised a team of 15 Union Operators in a 72 million pounds per year, 24/5, semi-continuous

solids detergent manufacturing plant

• Organizing the packaging supplies that reduced line downtime

• Reduced off-grade material by 200,000 pounds by working with corporate R&D to determine

where the material could be used
