Lynne Caudill, RN

**** – 1974 I graduated from Indianapolis School of Practical Nursing in 1972. I worked at County General
in Labor & Delivery, doing admission workups, labor, delivery, recovery, and surgery for
emergency C- Sections until 1974 when we moved to Bradenton, Florida.
1975 – 1985 I worked at L.W. Blake Hospital from 1975 till 1985 mostly in the critical care units. I also
worked at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Venice Hospital as pool and a critical care float
during this time. As a critical care float I worked in med-surg ICU, respiratory ICU, cardiac
ICU, protective care ICU (like for burns), and the progressive step-down units. During this time
I went to MJC and got my RN degree (1981).
1987 – 1994 I remarried in 1987 and had 3 babies which I stayed home with until they were all in school.
The youngest is now 16 and will be a junior in the fall.
1994 – 2004 I returned to nursing at Quality Health Care Center in North Port. I worked as a staff nurse on all
3 shifts, working up to evening supervisor, and filled in for vacationers in a variety of positions,
such as risk manager and ADON.
I put together the orientation manual, which I hear is still in use. I used all of our own
forms, filling in examples of what SHOULD be written on them. I had a section each for nurses,
CNA’s, and ancillary. (The heads of the ancillary departments then had a day to orient them for
their specific job duties.) I was certified to teach Alzheimer’s training at that time. I also did
tracking on mandatory inservices for the DON.
2003 – 2009 I worked at Heritage Health Care in Venice as evening supervisor, MDS Co-ordinator and staff
nurse until June 1, 2009. As the MDSC I took our 120 bed facility from an average daily rate for
Medicare of $345 to $462 per day in one year. I am certified.
Due to increased health issues, I am finding floor work harder to do, so as of 6/1/09 I am looking for another
position. (I have asthma and am overweight.) I would most like to teach, either CNA classes, staff
development, or both. I am very comfortable with computers as my oldest son is a computer engineer. I have
put together many forms for the facilities I work with, as masters, and have done Excel Sheets for MDS and
budgets. I would be willing to be an MDS nurse again or IV therapy. Although I like nights, I would work
whatever hours are needed for a job. I have worked all shifts plus 12 hr and 16 hr shifts, 9 am – 5pm and 3p –
3a.
