Vestcom Columbus, Ohio 2003-2006

Facility Manager – Printing, laminating and collating. Responsible for P&L of facility. One direct report and 12

indirect reports. Duties include Safety Chairman (OSHA), Hiring Manager, production, quality, purchasing,

warehouse, maintenance and employee training.

Reduced reportable accidents to one in the last three years.

Increased EBITA 46% by reducing daily downtime (lean, scheduling, cellular). Increase of $770,000.00.

Consultant – Safety, production efficiencies, employee empowerment strategies.

Hi-Port Aerosol, Inc Macedonia, Ohio 1998-2002

Plant Manager – Aerosol and liquid filling; compounding, pressurizing, labeling and packaging. Responsible for

P&L of the manufacturing area. Five direct reports, Supply Chain Mgr, Maintenance Mgr, Production Mgr, QC

Mgr (ISO9000), Shipping Mgr and 150 direct reports. Duties include Safety Chairman (OSHA), Hazardous Waste

Chairman (EPA), production, quality, warehouse, purchasing and maintenance.

Reduced reportable accidents 42% through written procedural changes and quarterly training.

Increased productivity 12% (78k-89k) and cut the CPH 9% ($0.078-0.70) by reducing daily downtime

(scheduling, supply chain, cellular). Cost savings, $185,000.00.

Saved $74,000.00 by negotiating purchase prices with vendors. Last 12 months.

Reduced manufacturing scrap 57% through Kaizen altered techniques. Cost savings $31,000.00.

Arrow International Cleveland, Ohio 1993-1998

Manufacturing Manager – Web printing, packaging and equipment manufacturer. 12 color presses, collating,

cutting, padding, and packaging. Responsible for 8 departments, a production manager, master scheduler (8 total

direct reports) and 350 non-direct reports in a 3-shift operation. Duties include safety board (OSHA), production,

quality and employee development. Accomplishments include:

Increased productivity 68% (4.92/cph to 7.23) through cellular techniques. Cost savings $171,400.00.

Implemented QC Dept. reducing customer complaints 69% and rework 38%. Cost savings $32,100.

Increased pressroom run time 18% by implementing set up crews (pull system). Cost savings $42,500.

Implemented Scrap Performance Program (peer & pride) increasing production. Cost savings $172,700.00.

Heinz Frozen Foods, Inc. Massillon, Ohio 1988-1993

Production/Sanitation Supervisor – Responsible for supervising production crews of 18-45 employees on

various production lines or sanitation department for preparation and daily USDA/FDA inspection. Training in

HACCP/GMP’s/QS9000/TQM. Duties included safety board, assigning primary and secondary jobs, training,

setup, scheduling, problem solving and quality control. Accomplishments include:

Safety awareness in a department with the worst safety record was increased to obtain 400 safe days.

Shift standard increased 63% through employee rotation (cellular). Cost savings of $60,445.00 per year.

Work time maximized by changing break schedule with cost savings of $27,846.00 per year.

Redefined job descriptions and duties reducing manning 9.4% (lean), for a cost savings of $112,320.00.

Paumier - Machine Shop Massillon, Ohio 1983-1988

Production Supervisor–Die making and metal fabrication, Tier 1 & 2 and government contracts. Responsible for

supervising Punch Presses, Heat Treat, Assembly, and Machining CNC Dept. Duties include safety director,

quality control, setup, maintenance, scheduling, shipping, and receiving. Accomplishments include:

Engineered an assembly stand for a repetitive Ford Motor Co. part that increased hand assembly of 275%

(400 pieces per shift to 1,150 pieces per shift) for cost savings of $38,111. 00.

Implemented SPC program to improve Quality.

Increased punch presses and roll formers efficiencies 22% by better scheduling methods.

Developed the company’s first lock out tag out program, consequently, all safety protocols.
