Summary:

Entrepreneur, “techie” and long-time marketing guru, I have operated several successful

traditional and Internet-based small businesses, including my own marketing firm. For nearly 10

years before launching my marketing firm, I played a key role in all phases of a successful large

Internet start-up in Atlanta, GA within the HR/Recruitment industry where I served as a sales and

marketing executive.

I have experience in the building and management of sales and marketing teams, all phases of

product development, advertising sales management, marketing, advertising, and public relations.

I’ve written or contributed to the writing of executable business and marketing plans some of

which helped to secure millions in outside investor capital. I also code (program) to a certain

Launched a marketing and design firm (www.MarketingMax.com) that quickly took off serving

small, medium, and large companies; re-focused on small businesses in late 2008 to follow

my passion. The economy, however, began to take its toll on my clients (large and small) and

thus, our workload.

Developed and executed a wide variety of marketing and PR plans and materials for clients,

Developed, executed and measured the return-on-investment (ROI) of a successful $12 to

$16 million-dollar annual marketing communications plans to target IT recruiters, HR

departments of large corporations, and the IT Professional (active and passive job seekers).

These plans included managing multiple outside agencies and vendors and incorporated all

advertising mediums from outdoor, print and radio to direct mail, Internet and public relations.

Managed a team of eight to fourteen direct reports which included project delegation, HR

issues, salary and performance reviews, and team building and mentoring.

Built and managed an advertising sales team with annual sales in excess of $1 million at a

time when web sponsorship sales were quite volatile.

Led team of up to ten people in the design, maintenance and marketing of a dynamic,

community-targeted website to include the company’s nine local radio station websites.

Designed multiple websites for clients and partners.

Developed and executed multiple local web promotions for nine radio stations.

Sold and designed banner ads for TalStar clients to be incorporated into the website.

TMG/Tronex, Inc. – Tallahassee, FL

March 1990 to September 1996

Founder / President

Co-developed and managed dynamic and interactive community-targeted website (started as

a text-based bulletin board system prior to the graphical web’s existence) housing over 10,000

individual pages of original content. Editorial updates included hourly news, weather, sports,

traffic, and feature articles about the community and its people. Visitors actively participated

with the site by creating articles, investigative reports, etc. with the editorial team.

Sold, marketed, and designed websites to and for local businesses that were incorporated

within the parent site including the website for WTXL-TV, a local ABC television affiliate.

Developed real-time chat rooms, bulletin boards, tourist information, interactive maps, road

construction updates, and hourly streaming-audio local news report for the sites.

Professional Car Care, Inc. – Tallahassee, FL

January 1989 to December 1994

Owner / Operator

Purchased an existing 13 year-old local small business after working there for 3 years.

Learned real world, hands-on business skills including customer care, accounting, marketing,

public relations, and employee management.

Managed up to thirteen full and part-time workers and 1099 contractors at any given time.

Directly responsible for increasing annual revenues by 600% in less than two years.

and operating my own successful business.

Miscellaneous

Computer Experience: Very strong computer hardware, software and network problem

solving skills. Strong graphic editing and design skills using Adobe PhotoShop and others.

Web programming skills include HTML, JavaScript, ASP, DNN, and Visual Basic. Expert with

Microsoft Office applications, QuickBooks, SmartDraw, Visio, and many others. I also

developed several Shareware software titles, including a few strategy games and various

personal information managers and databases. These titles were sold via the Internet,

America Online, and CompuServe’s Shareware Registration Forum (SWREG) in the early

‘90’s.

1991-1998 Certified in Search & Rescue (SAR) and K-9 SAR. Lead team of seven elite

“Hasty Team” SAR members in Florida and Georgia. Along with my German Shepherd K-9

partner, “Scout,” my division located many missing people in both severe disaster and non-

disaster situations. The Hasty Team is a group of highly trained individuals who are the first

to enter a disaster scene where multiple casualties are expected (hurricanes, collapsed

buildings, etc.) My team entered the scenes before any other emergency personnel. This

team and my K-9 partner specifically, were responsible for saving many lives and locating

many missing individuals.
