2004-Current Principal Research Engineer, Solar Turbines, San Diego, M&P/Product Development

Extensive technical leadership and interface with Design Engineering, Combustion,

Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Suppliers, Quality, Six Sigma, Repair and Overhaul.

* Leadership in identifying, characterizing analyzing the root cause of T130 Combustion

hardware failures, helped changing the injector design fundamentals

and design manuals to incorporate more durable materials for injectors.

* Leadership in identifying and characterizing the root cause of Mars Gas Only injectors fuel

leakage and high SoLoNOx rating. Developed Brazing solution to eliminate leakage with

improved injector resulting 2.5Million dollar cost saving and customer satisfaction.

* Developed patentable new Gold Brazing alloy with promising injector application for

enhanced corrosion, fatigue and sealing properties with higher producibility and SoLoNOx.

* Played Key Contributor role in identifying the root causes and solutions for Compressor and

Turbine shaft, cones, Hubs cracking, Tie bolt Nuts jamming, in a shortest time. Potential

savings from the trouble shooting is multi millions of dollar in terms of Engine build delays

and cost avoidance due to potential premature field failures.

* Leadership role in identifying and applying two promising high temperature corrosion

resistant superalloys for injector tip and combustor application. Identified and characterized

better fatigue and stress corrosion resistant disk, spacer, shaft, cone, hub materials.

* Played key role as MRB and Hot CAM M&P focal point and eliminated several major

Nonconformance root causes in shortest period of time. Contributed for several new

drawings, Specifications, processes. Played key role in developing Combustion Swirlers,

Brazing and Laser Welding of combustion including liner processes.

2002-2003 Engineer Specialist, Honeywell Aerospace, M&P Engineering, Phoenix, AZ

Developed and Qualified stringent aerospace bearing and gear products, compressor and

turbines as a key contributor, for aerospace turbo engines and auxiliary power units.

Participated in many failure analysis of bearing and gear products, blade and wheels, bolts

and shafts, help developed new process and technologies, specifications and drawing

Played a key role in cost reduction of aerospace turbo engine components manufacturing

process and helped saving millions of dollar. Achieved recognition award for ‘key

Contributor’ for commercial engine disk life extension, Inertia welding of blisks.
