ThyssenKrupp Compass Project, Calvert, AL

Project Superintendent

$5.2 billion steel mill project, Supervised the Hot Strip Mill section of the site. We

excavaterd over 1 million yards of soil to 35 ft. below grade, installed a dewatering

system, and installed 12600 displacement piles in 4 months. Turned around and in 5

months installed 230000 yards of concrete and 400000 tons of rebar to complete the

lower levels of the building, without 1 single lost day to an injury. Safety was my goal,

work to maintain scheduling; prepare daily, weekly, manpower, and material reports,

Attended required meetings with the owners to show progress. Was on the night shift for

4 months.

Built a condo complex from the cow pasture to completion. Due to the utitilies being at

27 ft. below grade we had to install a dewatering system to complete the underground

utitilies. Interviewed sub-contractors, obtained the permits, developed the schedule, held

pre-construction meetings. Sent in weekly reports, maintained a daily log, held daily and

weekly safety meetings. Managed the building construction, through completion and

turn over to Client.
