Executive Qualifications

Senior Executive Service (SES) -Civilians

Leading Change:

Many people feel change in their work environment is negative; the

beginning of the end. For the most part, people are at ease wi th the status

quo. But times have changed, and change is the new stability. Without

cutting-edge technology, innovation and confidence; organizations must

revolutionize to survive and be aggressive to succeed. When change is

sanctioned, it can be vigorously opposed. How well you prepare,

communicate and support any initiative whether planned or emergent, will

determine your success in leading the modifications required in any

organization.

To summarize the steps to implement change, you begin with a de tailed plan

of action (POA). Confirm all key people are on board in the beginning and

make certain the ultimate goal is understood. Ensure a timeline for

completion is realistic allowing for unforeseen delays. Communicate how

adjustments will be implemented to your employees and include relevant

details. It is vital to make training and other resources available for all staff.

Leading People:

Working for Coastal Training Technologies in 1996 was invaluable. We

developed training and educational me dia used by Corporate, Government,

Industrial and Healthcare markets with a major focus on Human Resources.

This in-depth knowledge proved useful in past positions held where Human

Resource Departments or Managers were not part of the organization al

structure. As a Unit Production Manager, I reported directly to the CEO and

CFO. I supervised my staff, each department head, crews and cast. I had

the opportunity to develop and mentor employees creating college internship

programs, entry-level positions and on-the-job training.

5

Managing departments often involves mediation. When individuals come

together, some conflict arises when personalities clash. Having a highly

trained HR department working alongside managers for conflict resolution is

important. Counseling, progressive discipline and documentation is key. A

person’s social style plays a role in their actions and reactions. Personality

can affect how one relates, responds or influences others. Adapting to

different social styles proves effective in achieving positive end results. You

are more effective when modifying your approach to match another’s social

style. Practicing these principles, I have seen captivating results and over

time it’s become a natural part of my communication technique.

Management is based on communicating effectively. I have had the

pleasure to work with many people from distinct backgrounds. Each person,

industry and challenge is unique. Leadership roles will vary and versatility is

beneficial in supervisory positions.

Results Driven:

Implementing and executing plans designed to exceed growth projections

through market analysis and business strategy is crucial in achieving results.

By building and maintaining credibility with customers, accounts and key

opinion leaders or industry drivers, you develop support for your company

initiatives leading to product growth and increased market share.

Organizations are full of valuable employees. Staff is most familiar with

competitive information, trends, new technology and creativity. Drawing

from existing talent for marketing strategy ideas, your goals are identified

using a collaborative approach in realizing the results you desire.

average by 22%

Sanofi-Synthelabo

*Increased market share in territory by over 50%

*Recognized as division sales leader and top 10% in region

6

Business Acumen:

Effectively using marketing strategies to prospect and qualify opportunities is

fundamental . Regulations, standards and trends in most industries are

updated on a regular basis. Remaining current in industry news provides

the ammunition essential to stay one step ahead of your competitor.

Wisdom, integrity, dedication and respect; these are just a few words to

illustrate an honorable philosophy and foundation for life. An innovative

leader displays moral principles, ensuring an ethical code of conduct is

mirrored by the entire organization. And this; is good business acumen.

Building Coalitions/Communications:

ARRA, SAMHSA, HHS and Philanthropic Foundations are involved in grant

assistance for medical providers and health centers to adopt Healthcare

Information Technology- especially Electronic Health Records. I have a

passion for helping customers research the best option for acquiring these

technologies; particularly when funding is imperative. Establishing

relationships and remaining connected provides me with significant

information relevant to customer’s needs.

The Department of Labor through CCI Tools along with Industry and society

tradeshows allows making contacts with Federal, State, Medical and Military

Agencies and Societies realistic. These websites, resources and events

provide an opportunity to share common interests and goals and establish

Community Initiatives.

Networking offers interaction with experienced individuals from various

industries and career levels the chance to share best practices and solutions.
