2004. The organization develops embedded C code for their complete (software, hardware, and RF) automotive

• Managed six concurrent GM software projects that developed tire pressure monitoring and remote
keyless entry automotive sub-systems

Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) services for the State of Michigan’s Child Support Enforcement
System (MICSES). Under contract with Michigan’s Department of Management & Budget, and as directed by the
U.S. Administration for Children and Families, audited the Requirements Engineering Key Process Area (KPA) for
the state’s 368-person organization. The engagement included an initial six-month assessment and two follow-up
semi-annual assessments. Accomplishments included:
• Base lined the development organization against Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity
Model (CMM) Level 2
• Analyzed and critiqued system process documentation and project artifacts
• Interviewed state technology resources, both Michigan and contractor organizations
• Documented the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Methodology
(PMM) currently in use within Michigan’s Child Support Enforcement System
• Defined the technology to deliver the SDLC as both a printed desk reference and HTML from a single
data source
• Produced process descriptions, tasks, templates, and tools for the missing portions of their PMM and

Performed initial Assessment (As-Is) phase of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) engagement for the Capital
Area United Way. This not-for-profit organization manages a yearly pledge, collection, and distribution campaign of
over $6M. Documented all current processes with their inputs/outputs, key forms, responsibilities, metrics, and
policies.
Developed a Project Portfolio Management (PPM) methodology for the State of Michigan’s Department of State. A
Project Selection and Control process was defined, documented, and implemented. Deliverables included a
detailed methodology process guide (idea generation through formal project launch), standard (Word) Service
