Responsibilities
• Managed safety, health, and environmental compliance for seven wood preserving and sawmill
manufacturing facilities located in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina.
• Reported to Director of Human Resources (executive management); often worked with Senior Vice
President.
• Shaped the company goals and programs in safety and the environment; brought in “personal touch” and
achieved high rates of success in all areas as evidenced by excellent reports to and from agencies.
• Worked extensively and effectively with federal agencies: OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Office of Workman’s
Compensation; also, worked with state environmental agencies in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina.
• Performed monthly company audits on all facilities for health, safety, environment, DOT; developed and
sent audit reports to senior management; documented, followed up and corrected all reported problems.
• Worked with General Managers on compliance issues and matters discovered during audits; conducted

• Conducted accident/incident investigations; identified root causes and put corrective measures in place.
• Responsible for all OSHA recordkeeping (300, 3000a, 301 logs); developed reports for senior management
review/submission; evaluated and maintained company data and individual facility reports.
• Maintained hazardous waste compliance for five facilities including: TIER II reporting, TRI reporting,
biannual reports, contingency plans, emergency procedures, personnel training, and DOT compliance.
• Purchased all safety and first aid equipment for company; maintained records and stayed within budgets.

Accomplishments and Achievements
• Within nine years of managing safety, health, and environment; achieved an overall 83% reduction in
OSHA recordable incidents for all seven facilities (from 48 in 2001 to 8 recordable incidents in 2008); and
for year to date, January 1, 2009 to September 1, 2009, had only 2 recordable OSHA incidents.
• Strengthened company-driven goals making Robbins “a very good executor of the environment.”
• Accompanied inspectors during OSHA and EPA inspections with most inspections successful (resulted in
no fines), or contested results; in one inspection, saved the company fines exceeding $15,000.
• Implemented a very effective companywide hazard communication program; set up an MSDS online
inventory system for easy access by all employees.
• Established comprehensive vehicle risk management policy for all fleet vehicles in all locations, and
implemented a DOT complaint drug and alcohol program.
• Created company’s first environmental Spill Prevention Counter Control (SPCC) plans for two facilities.
• Implemented productive Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans at five facilities that set up effective
reporting and procedures for regular evaluation and maintenance.
• In company’s two manufacturing facilities, worked with consulting company of Audiologists (2001) to
evaluate manufacturing positions for compliance with OSHA hearing conservation guidelines; developed
and successfully implemented OSHA compliant hearing conservation program within three months.
• Identified need, and designed and developed OSHA complaint Lockout Tagout program.
• Developed intercompany protocol with HR, incorporating and establishing OSHA and EPA compliance.
