the areas of: capital / expense budget control, integration of new / leading-edge technologies, development

Accomplishments

• Provided leadership and direction to as many as seven manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities

included: capital budget control, process improvements, OSHA and environmental compliance

programs, facility management, energy programs, quality assurance program and long range

strategic planning.

• Incorporated Lean tools and SPC techniques to consistently produce annual cost savings and

quality/productivity improvements. The most dramatic productivity improvement was a 60% increase

in yield for the quartz glass tube drawing process. The most recent cost saving was $500,000 in

labor reduction on the AC cooling assembly line.

• Managed the construction and start-up of four new manufacturing facilities and the expansion of

eight existing facilities. Responsibilities included site selection, land purchase negotiation, building

design approval, equipment procurement, process start-up and staffing.
