Professional Work Experience

Robert Half Technology/Trek Bicycle: Consultant/Developer 10/08 to 3/09

Development and maintenance of a B2B application that is core to Trek's business. The internationalized application allowed dealers

and vendors to search and order products from Trek Bicycle. Search functionality, cart, billing, order history, profile maintenance for

the dealer websites, company news, and custom bike building were all application components.

• J2EE application on Websphere built using Spring, DB2 on AS400, MySql, and Ajax.

NVISIA: Consultant/Developer 10/07 to 9/08

The work site was the state of Wisconsin's Employee Trust Funds. Application manages benefits and payments for all state of

Wisconsin employees and retirees.

• J2EE application with Struts, Hibernate, and Spring.

Edgewood College: Developer 11/06 to 10/07

Duties included working on several programming projects, mostly custom apps for different areas of the college. Created scripts

with Perl and Ruby on Windows and Apple, also batch jobs, client apps, and web apps for different departments. Jenzabar TE to EX,

Wisconsin Department of Transportation: Java Developer 7/06 to 11/06

Duties included working to develop and maintain a J2EE application used by DOT to manage interstate motor carriers and trucking.

The application was built on Websphere with a web service interface to a federal database.

Development and support for a distributed web based customer service application. Customer service facilities are located in Terre

Haute IN, Panama, Toronto, and the Dominican Republic. The application provides product search capabilities, customer information,

and the ability to present offers to calling customers that aren't available otherwise. This allows the CSR's to sell products along with

helping customers, essentially making them a profit-generating group. Regularly coded bug fixes and enhancements geared toward

making the customer service representatives more productive. The associated reporting application is comprised of simple Java

objects, JDBC, JSPs, and an Informix database. He designed tools to monitor JMS queues for production WebLogic clusters. Also

served as the main support contact for the Customer Service application and the associated reporting application, which is very high

visibility as it's how Customer Service revenue is determined.

• The multi-tier enterprise application uses session and message-driven beans, Java, XML, XSLT, JSP, JMS, JMX, Servlets, Apache

Struts and Tiles, Castor XML, an IBM mainframe Java/CICS, Informix databases (converting to db2), instances on WebLogic servers.

Indiana Department of Education: Programmer/Analyst 11/01 to 07/03

He mainly developed server-side functionality (using Java) of a centralized student database application that was cited by U.S.

Department of Education policy staff (Undersecretary Gene Hickok and others). The file processing was done with Java, web

functionality implemented with Cold Fusion, and Oracle database. Text files as comma separated, positional and XML are validated,

then translated and processed based on user authentication and authorization. I developed and supported internal and external

applications using Cold Fusion, Perl, and JSP's. Also, he redesigned the student database applications Java file processing scheme

and set up distributed file processing allowing for multiple servers to processes incoming files (RMI based). Deployed Web Services

(using SOAP and Apache Tomcat) to allow school/school corporations to do student lookups, and add/modify student information.

Tank fire control systems, laser range finders, night vision goggles and sights. Each aspect involved electronic component level

diagnostics and troubleshooting. I was a member of the Anti-Terrorist Reactionary Task Force at Camp Pendleton, CA during the Gulf

War. He received a meritorious promotion, for leadership and performance in boot camp and a meritorious promotion for being the

Honor Graduate in Small Missile Systems School.
