GENERAL SKILLS:

. Supervisory experience which comprised managing the overall

operations of a laboratory from scheduling work flow to

purchasing. Administered all programs, motivating all staff

to work as a team to accomplish goals. The management

background has consisted of up to 25 direct and over 1000

indirect employees which included management, technical,

professional, clerical, union and non-union personnel.

. Responsible for the overall administration of a laboratory

health and safety program which included the

conceptualization and design of a complete written safety

manual, and a hospital safety program which complied to all

equipment up to detailed specification working order to

eliminate downtime and loss of productivity. This also

includes establishing PM programs and reacting to situations

that need immediate responses as they occur. Maintained

accurate and complete documentation of the aforementioned

processes. The various instruments include: centrifuges,

GFAA, ICAP, thermalcyclers, real time SDS, spectrophotometers

and capillary electrophoresis instruments.

. Quality control responsibility for maintaining to the highest

standards in all aspects of the operation and documenting all

quality assurance records. Adhere to ISO 17025, ANSI Z-540-1

and NQA-1 guidelines and any internally generated procedures

to ensure accuracy.

. Hands on biological scientific background which includes the

following examples: PCR, electrophoresis (slab, plate and

capillary for protein and nucleic assays), spectrophotometry,

thermalcyclers, Biomek robotics, ELISA, blotting,

chromatography, flouresence, FRET, RTPCR, immunology, cell

culture and presumptive testing etc..

. Hands on inorganic chemistry experience which includes the

following examples: FTIR, GFAA, ICAP, metals digestion,

cyanide analysis, pH/conductivity analysis, specific

gravity/density testing, dry weight analysis, TCLP,

flashpoint and presumptive testing etc..

. Started student programs to integrate college students to the

workplace, and allow them to apply theoretical knowledge in a

faced paced working environment. This also shapes the

direction of the next generation of American workers.

MOUNT SAINT MARY'S HOSPITAL

Lewiston, NY 6/2009

to Present

Employee Safety Coordinator

Responsible for the running of a complete hospital employee

safety program, encompassing more than one thousand employees,

which included management, technical, professional, clerical,

union and non-union personnel, in three separate facilities.

Responsible for applicable mandatory OSHA training, and

resolving any issues when it comes to applicable OSHA standards,

including but not limited to biohazard waste, PPE and

respiratory protection. Also a member of the emergency

preparedness committee and leader of the HAZMAT decon team,

compose and facilitate emergency preparedness policy to comply

with all federal, state and joint commission regulations. Also

responsible for taking the hospital safety program to meet

OSHA's VPP standards. In addition started an Emergency

Preparedness Student program, where local college students earn

credit by working to better our emergency preparedness.

QUALITY INSPECTION SERVICES INC.

Calibration Lab Supervisor

Set-up calibration laboratory to meet ISO, NQA-1, Military

Standards and any other Quality Standards QIS must conform to.

Running the Calibration Lab day to day and performing

calibration functions and procedures. Compose and update manuals

to meet aforementioned standards. Oversee the bidding process

for construction bids and other related startup costs and

estimates. Other duties may be to support the Safety

Department, providing training functions as needed.

CENTRAL POLICE SERVICES FORENSIC LABORATORY

Buffalo, NY 6/1998 to

1/2009

Safety Manager

Safety manager responsible for setting agendas and meetings as

well as training for all laboratory staff and compliance of all

applicable rules and regulations including OSHA Hazard

Communication and Laboratory Standards, current with blood borne

pathogen training and certified for CPR/AED by the American

Heart Association. Responsible for the inspection and

maintenance of all safety equipment, as well as integration into

the laboratory security systems. Have written a complete

Safety Manual detailing the health and safety program for the

entire organization, and am responsible for updating to meet

current regulatory needs.

Forensic Scientist

Duties include examining items to detect and identify trace

and/or physiological evidence using chemical, physical and

instrumental means of analysis, perform DNA genotyping using

methods such as PCR and capillary electrophoresis. Perform

validation and development of new method using short tandem

repeats as genetic markers and developed a DNA genotype

database. Preservation of evidence containing DNA, working with

various computers and computer systems to run analytical

instruments and search DNA databases, create and review reports

and track evidence. Maintain all laboratory instrumentation and

document its use and upkeep; insure the laboratory is adhering

to all guidelines of regulatory agencies and strict adherence to

quality control policies, including proficiency testing twice a

year. Go to crime scenes, perform on site testing and

evaluation as well as collect evidence, and write detailed

reports about my findings. Have testified over 50 times,

providing expert testimony in the grand jury and in family,

county, state and federal court proceedings.
