. Spearheaded long-range planning to prepare for growth and
technological change.
. Standardized working drawings and specification sheet formats
across sub-contractors to improve communication.
. Calculated building HVAC requirements to ensure adequate capacity
of system.
. Applied OSHA and EPA requirements and prepared documents to support
permit and inspection process.
. Applied CAD tools, reducing design time by 37%.
. Attended vendor presentations to learn about developments in HVAC
technology.
. Institutionalized process of conducting follow-up studies of
engineering projects to identify opportunities to improve products or
processes.
. Designing 3-D parts and putting them into sub-assemblies. Taking
multiple sub-assemblies and putting them all together to make an entire
project per job-spec.
Relevant Experience and Skills
Seismic/Non-seismic Repair/Retrofit. Aerodynamics. Solid Mechanics.
Mechanical Testing. Technology Evaluation. Auto-Adaptive Structures.
Technology Transfer. New Technology Development/Implementation. Fracture
Mechanics. Stress Analysis. Structural System
Isolation and Vibration
. Reading calculations-following code, following P.E. specs.
Calculation of weights per unit for springs in isolation curbs. Unit has
to float level on all springs to function properly to design spec.
Blueprints and Schematics
. Reading blueprints to calculate for elevation changes for pitch.
According to this designing curb for pitch so the H.V.A.C. unit lays
level on roof curb.
CFM and Static Pressure
. Figuring out opening sizes in S/A and R/A openings in curb to get
desired c.f.m. per unit performance or customers' desired specifications.
Figuring out static pressure for integrity of curb.
Field Surveys (For Retro-fit application)
. Travel to jobsite and get on the roof to open up H.V.A.C. units to
measure, inspect openings and get overall data of unit and the curb it is
sitting on. Take all information back to work and design a new product
to make a flawless retro-fit application. This saved time and money for
the customer. I have traveled to all states in the continental U.S.
except for Texas and California. I have done approx. 65 field surveys.
Manufacturing of my design
. Reviewing 3-D parts and flat pattern of the part to go onto sheet
metal. Optimizing parts for efficiency to get as many on a 102" x 60"
sheet of metal through Radan Software and then fed into a laser CNC
machine.
Sales experience
. While also doing engineering work for this company I also dealt
with clients to sell them our products and work with them to fit the
needs that were being desired. I worked in sales for my last three years
with this company.
