DSW INC, Columbus, OH 2007 - 2010
Regional Construction Manager
Managed tenant improvement and developer build outs for DSW Shoes in the
South East Region of the United States. Complete project responsibility
from bidding through merchandising for a 15,000 square foot retailer.
Participated in the conversion of the store construction process from
outsourced developer builds to in house tenant improvement projects.
Assisted in the development of the new DSW prototype and the value
engineering of the subsequent designs.
TWEEN BRANDS, New Albany, OH 2000 - 2007
Construction Manager (2002-2007)
Total responsibility for tenant improvement projects, from the bidding
process through merchandise receipt, for Limited Too and Justice stores.
Manage general contractors, fixture arrival and setup, permitting issues,
and interaction with local inspectors and landlord representatives.
Communicate all construction and scheduling issues with field management.
Built an average of 35 stores per year in mall, strip center and outlet
locations. Control contract budgets ranging from $100,000 to $350,000.
Maintenance Coordinator (2000-2002)
Responsible for all day-to-day maintenance needs of 550 stores. Managed
special projects, remodels, recarpets and insurance issues. Manage Expense
and Cap Ex budgets in excess of $2 million.
K-MART CORPORATION, Troy, MI 1996 - 2000
Operations Manager (1999-2000)
Oversee all operations of a $22 million retail facility. Direct
responsibilities include Human Resources, Public Relations, Replenishment,
Receiving, Facility Management and Finance. Manage an on-site staff of 150
people as well as numerous vendors and sub contractors.
Project Coordinator (1996-1999)
Responsible for all construction and merchandising aspects of 12 retail
renovations or new constructions. Managed a $2 million budget to convert a
standard K-Mart into the new BigK platform. Involved in total
organizational restructuring. Operated under extreme time constraints to
complete projects within a 10-week window. During the course of this
project, K-Mart stock tripled in value.
