billing and returns for these accounts. The module also includes
certain web services to manage online taxing systems.
Responsibilities:
. Involved in client discussions during requirement analysis
. Involved in system modeling and developing use cases using UML
. Involved in the design and development of the user interface
using .NET 3.5 framework (WPF)
. Developed business tier modules using C#
. Enforced the security model of the application using Forms Based
Authentication and Role Based Authorization.
. Involved in designing the database architecture using SQL Server
2005.
. Developed XML web services for providing various user interfaces
to the clients
. Coordinated the business acceptance and user acceptance testing
Project 2: Caterpillar Display Builder (CDB)
(June
2006 - Dec 2007)
Role: Application Developer (intern)
Client: Caterpillar Inc
CDB is an integrated application aimed at providing simulation and
configuration features for designing display tools.
This application is used on a daily basis by the engineers at
Integrated Monitoring System Division (IMSD) of the Caterpillar
Electronics department. The purpose of this application is to provide
an integrated development and testing tool for IMSD engineers for
building a variety of Caterpillars core display devices (viz ADVISOR,
MESSANGER, GEN III, CMPD) which are used in machines like tractors,
wheel loaders, trucks etc. The application includes an easy-to-use
user interface and dynamic business logic unit which involves
implementation of complex calibration and service test protocols.
Responsibilities:
. Actively involved in all phases of the business tier
development.
. Designed and developed the user interface using .NET 2.0
frameworks with C# as programming language.
. Designed and developed complex business tier modules (real
time data processing engine and data transfer engine)
. Developed complex queries and stored procedures (with
emphasis on performance) to validate and process data in
real time on SQL Server 2005 data base
. Developed flexible and efficient interfaces for data
reporting using Grid Views and Datasets
. Implemented Master pages for synchronizing the layout of the
application
. Implemented AJAX in the user interface to enhance user
interface and experience
. Developed an effective reporting interface using Crystal
reports to report and log the data processing updates.
. Coordinated with the testing team through the end-to-end
testing of the application
Environment: Microsoft .NET 2.0 framework, ASP.NET, ADO.NET, C#, XML,
SQL-SERVER 2005
Project 3: X-CBE (Xius Converged Billing Engine)
(Sep 2004 - Aug 2005)
Role: Software Application Engineer
Client: Xius- Telecom Division of Mega soft Ltd
Xius is one of the largest telecom and internet service providers in India.
X-CBE is an intranet based web application which aims at providing
integrated billing engine for monitoring and managing the roaming services
provided by the company across the country. The billing engine is used by
CSRs (Customer Service Representatives) across the extensive network of
company's call centers to manage billing adjustments, product adjustments,
payment processing for both residential and business consumers.
Responsibilities:
. Actively involved in all phases of SDLC
. Interacted directly with clients to identify their business
process changes, rules and application user requirements
. Developed Web Forms using .NET frame work 1.1 and VB.NET
. Implemented client side validations apart from ASP.NET
validation controls to enforce stringent validations on the
user interface
. Developed complex user controls to implement user poll
engine on the interface
. Implemented Forms based authentication and Role based
authorization to limit the user access of the application as
needed.
. Worked on complex queries, stored procedures and triggers on
SQL Server 2000 database.

Advanced Roaming is application targeting the needs of the profitable
Global Roaming market segment, enabling mobile Advanced Roaming is
application targeting the needs of the profitable Global Roaming
market segment enabling mobile network operators to acquire and retain
roamers and optimize operational costs. It is an intranet based
application aimed at providing an integrated roaming network
management platform to the mobile network operators to control their
out roamers (mobile network operators in other geographic areas). By
doing this, mobile network operators can benefit from better revenue
shares and bilateral preferential treatment within the group or with
the preferred partner network. The application was designed to be
used by inter company personnel ranging from top management to network
operators and field engineers. Certain modules of the application also
focused on providing an interactive user interface to the subscribers
of these networks.
Responsibilities:
. Actively involved in requirement analysis and system modeling
(low level design) using UML.
. Designing and developed the user interface using .NET 1.1 and
VB.NET
. Developed complete demand forecast data processing module using
VB.NET as part of the business tier of the application
