Cougar Ace: Project Manager for the drydocking and refurbishment of the

car carrier that was submerged with sea water, and lay inclined by 90

degrees. Project carried out at Portland, OR, USA.

Miscellaneous: Perform surveys of shipyards and drydocks and provide

reports regarding suitability for various projects. Conduct ship condition

surveys for ship brokers to evaluate vessel condition for purposes of sale.

As Division Manager of the Cruise section, responsible for all aspects of the cruise

repair/conversion market from worldwide marketing to estimating, bid

preparation, project management, customer liaison, negotiations and final

bill settlement. Have managed over 30 cruise ship drydockings for Princess

Cruises, Holland America, RCCL, American Hawaii Cruises, Crystal

Cruises, Regency and Delta Queen Steamboat Company. Hands on

As Division Manager for New Construction and Offshore, successfully marketed the

company’s capabilities to procure and build in record time a 128 M.W.

Power Barge for MAN B&W, which is commissioned in Puerto Quetzal.

Division Manager, Production

As Executive Vice President, responsibilities included capacity planning, detailed reviews

of project requirements including assessment of the staff and budgets

required; all technical, budgeting, scheduling and project management,

monitoring performance of personnel assigned to the project; preparing

master schedules and directing the completion of assigned projects to the

satisfaction of the customer and company.

As Division Manager of Production, responsible for the day to day

operations of the Production department. This involved management of 12

ship superintendents, 10 craft managers, and interfacing with 10 labor

unions. Thoroughly conversant with labor issues, safety management,

worker moral, worker motivation, repair scheduling and other related

responsibilities.

Vice President/Owner, 1987 – 1995

Division Manager, Estimating, Negotiating & Contract Administration

As Vice President/Owner, responsible for the day-to-day operations and P&L for $75

million in annual revenue. As Division Manager of Estimating/Contract

Administration, responsible for direct supervision of 8 estimators and

contract administrators, project proposals, bid submittals, contract

negotiations and final bill settlement of all projects in the shipyard.

Thoroughly conversant with all aspects of shipyard estimating in all

disciplines. Instrumental in bidding and the successful negotiations of

several hundred projects with ship owners worldwide, and posses a proven

in depth knowledge of the value of work in price and manhours.

involving ship surveys prior to drydocking, specification writing and

interpretation, assisting the Sr. Project Manager and coordinating all

subcontractors and material suppliers.
