EXPERIENCE

Carolinas Medical Alliance - January 2007 - October 2009

Position: Receptionist/Check In/Check Out/Scheduler/Coder

Check in patients and check out patients for 1 doctor; assist walk-in

patients as well as answer all incoming calls. I verify insurance coverage

on patients; update patient information; take RX calls for refills; put

chart numbers on faxes and correspondence and give to appropriate person.

Copy medical records for medical records request that come into office. I

collect all co-pays and money for the practice and balance daily charges

and receipts. I code all encounter forms with prper information. I make

bank deposits for office manager when she is out and am her relief person

when she is out of the office. I prepare charts for the following day

appointments among other miscellaneous duties related to day to day

operations of a medical practice. I send out thank you letters for patient

referrals and discharge letters. I help with the filing of needed

information for patient's chart. I am very

knowledgeable of MYSIS computer system.

Pee Dee Cardiology Associates, PA October 1998- August 2006

Position: Communications/Scheduler/Check In/ Check Out

Hired as switchboard operator in 1998. Was promoted, along with duties of

switchboard, to new patient records and appointments of new patients and as

time went by I was added numerous daily responsibilities. I was promoted to

front desk supervisor in May of 2000. I supervised 4 persons. I was

responsible for scheduling their vacation days and personal time off as

well as making sure there was coverage during this time. I also did

evaluations of my department employees. Every 2 weeks I calculated the time

cards and reported the hours worked for each employee to payroll

supervisor. Responsible for discipline of department employees and relating

needed information to them such as practice changes and miscellaneous

information from human resources. When the office was restructured and

departments divided, I was supervisor of communications where I was

supervisor for 3 people. Scheduled all consults with our hospital doctors

and nurses at MRMC and CHS; patient problems due to RX's and billing, all

appointments for new patients and existing patients, sending new patient

packets to new patients, scheduling of stress tests and echocardiograms in

office, RX refills for nurses, notify patients of upcoming appointment. I

was entirely responsible for all of the doctor's schedules each day and on

a monthly basis. Schedule changes for the office and doctor's schedules, as

well. Switchboard relief, check-in and check-out; prepared charts for the

next day appointments, scheduled outpatient tests at MRMC & CHS. Balanced

daily charges and reported all monies taken into the office. The

Communications area is all phone calls and communicating information to the

appropriate area(s) in a professional and timely manner.

Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church June 1997 - October 1998

Position:Church Secretary

Responsible for weekly church bulletins, monthly newsletter, making the

Pastor's appointments, ordering of all material related to Sunday School

and Training; Pastor's correspondence, keeping of all attendance in all

areas of the church, assisted financial secretary with reports and deposits

of church funds, various other office duties related to a day to day

business operation.

Position: Receptionist

I started in the sales department as a sales secretary. I quoted jobs for

customers. I also worked in the switchboard area where I answered all calls

as needed. Our division was responsible for all mail and packages, incoming

and outgoing. I filed insurance claims for our employees and assisted with

coordination of benefits. I assisted in accounts payable and receivable.

This job was an accumulation of many duties.
