included various types of automation integrated with 165
welding and 29 material handling robots and six presses
ranging from 600 to 3,000 tons inside a 469,000 sq. foot
facility.
Manage 450 production, skilled trades and supervisors in the
manufacturing of 320,000 F-150 frames per year.
PPAP and run at rate on first attempt, exceeding required
rate by 30%.
Implemented and utilized Dana's first assembly VisualPlant
system in fall 2003.
July 2001 - April Plant Manager
2003 Dana Corporation - Hopkinsville, Kentucky
Managed a 600 person frame manufacturing plant, producing
600,000 frames and cradles per year in a 425,000 square foot
facility that housed 25 presses ranging from 300 to 3,000
tons.
Responsibilities included a successful start-up of the
GMT-610 frame line.
Instrumental in the installation and implementation of a
Perceptron data tracking system.
With sales of $250 million and a negative after tax profit
we faced challenges, but the hard work paid off when in one
year we made it a break-even facility by reducing manpower
and controlling fixed and variable expenses.
March 1999 - July Plant Manager
2001 Dana Corporation - Hastings, Nebraska
Managed a 250 person piston ring manufacturing plant with
sales of $45 million.
Reduced inventory by 50% and improved workflow by
redesigning layout of machines in the facility, resulting in
a 25% increase in productivity.
Went from negative profit after tax to 8% profit after tax
in less than one year.
May 1994 - March Assembly Operations Manager
1999 Dana Corporation - Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Third member of the plant start-up team, arriving prior to
construction.
Member of three-person group responsible for the
interviewing and hiring of entire plant personnel.
Planned and implemented the training of plant population in
welding, teambuilding and press operations with 90 welding
robots.
Managed 650 assembly employees in 359,000 square foot
facility, which housed 12 presses ranging from 1,000 to
2,000 tons.
Successfully held off two Union drives.
