Norsk Hydro entities emphasizing people, product and best practice sharing.

1995-1998

Leading manufacturer for general aviation OEM's and distributors of new and

rebuilt piston engines, replacement parts and batteries with 6 facilities

headquartered in Mobile.

Directed all facets of financial management including general accounting,

cost accounting, financial planning/budgeting, cash management, pricing and

credit functions for the headquarters and 6 manufacturing/distribution

locations. Utilized EVA to measure the company. Led staff of 23

direct/indirect reports.

. Installed PC based invoicing, A/R software including proactive credit

policies for both domestic and international customers reducing credit

days, as well as a simplified process to handle 1M invoices.

. Enhanced inventory control systems to improve book and actual inventory

accuracy resulting in the elimination of historically large book to

physical adjustments

1991-1995

A start up company that manufactured turbine generator systems for the USAF

and Army with an initial $200M in awarded contracts.

Established and led accounting team in defense contract accounting, job

costing and general accounting, payables, progress billings, DCAA audits,

payroll, cash, and planning and capital control. Oversaw pricing and

negotiated proposals for indirect cost rates, new production, spares and

engineering cost type programs in compliance with all federal acquisition

regulations and CAS. Led staff of 8.

. Implemented all TPS systems on a PC network using a job/standard cost

hybrid system, created focused reporting that identified key cost drivers

and trend reporting

. Defense spending was curtailed and led the pricing and subsequent

negotiation with the government to end the major contract which resulted

in the closing of the company and generated a $23M closing gain.
